In the name of God amen, I Jacob Kesling of the County of Barbour, and State of Virginia, being weak in boddy (sic); but of a sound mind, and a disposing memory, do hereby make my last will and Testament the manner and form following that is to say:

First: After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses is paid, I give to my wife Mary Kesling all my perishable propperty (sic) and one third of my real Estate for and during her Natural life, and after her decease, I give the perishable part of my propperty (sic) to be divided equally among my several children now here named* James Kesling, William Kesling, John Kesling, Mahala Dean, Rebecca Pifer, Katharine Hope.

Second: I give to my son Jacob L. Kesling the farm on which I now live to him and his heirs forever.

Thirdly: I give to my wife Mary Kesling all the money I have on hand.

4: I give to Rebecca Pifer one Milch Cow.

And Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Jacob L. Kesling Executor of my last will and Testament.

In witness whereof (sic) I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20 day of January 1845.

Signed sealed published and declared as and for the last will and testament of the above named Jacob Kesling in the presence of us.

Barbour County Court April Term 1847.

The last will and Testament of Jacob Kesling Decd. Was this day presented in Court, and proved by then Oath of John B. Shreeve a witness thereto and continued for further proof.

Barbour County Court May Term 1847.

The last will and Testament of Jacob Kesling was further proved by the Oath of Teter Kesling witness thereto, according to Law and the same being before proved ??????? Court last by the Oath of John B. Shreeve a witness thereto is ordered to be recorded.
