My Lantz Lineage

My Lantz's came from Germany. Hans Jorg Lantz I and his wife Cathrine arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on October 20, 1747, aboard a ship called "Two Brothers." They brought with them one child, Hans Jorg II. They came from the Palatinate area of southwestern Germany: "about 15 miles south of Heidelberg near the city of Speyer, which is now part of Bavaria." They settled initially in Germantown, PA, but later migrated to the Shenandoah Valley and then to Lewis and Barbour counties of what is now West Virginia.

My great-great grandfather, Marion Lantz (1835-1927) ran a hotel in Elkins, WV, for many years; however a goodly portion of the family lived over the years in Philippi, Belington, and other Barbour county towns.

I have been able to trace my Lantz lineage backward in time to the year 1747. I am of the 9th generation in this direct genealogical line. The asterisks identify the number of each generation preceding me (*). This chart is "a work in progress" as may be noted by the many "?" where dates should be.
