Joseph Calvin Corder
died at his home in St. Louis, MO June 19th. He was working in the yard, fixing a concrete drain,a nd came into the house and lay down on the bed and his wife called for a doctor but before she got through calling, he was dead. The deceased was 59y old, and is survived by his widow and one son, Clyde, now 16y old. There are three brothers living, George L., of Weston Marcellus of Mount Sterling, IL and Henry of Augusta,IL two sisters Mrs Artemesa Lawson of Flemington and Mrs. Dora Wilson, of Weston.
Funeral services held from the home on Thursday 21 June at 2:00pm Two brothers Marcellus and Henry were present.
Above was clipped from St. Louis paper and tells of one who was quite well known here when he lived in Barbour. He was known as "Cab" Corder and was a son of Thomas Corder of Shook's Run.
His wife was Olive O'Neal a daughter of Samuel O'Neal and a sister of our townsman S.L. O'Neal
