SHIRLEY CLAYPOOL SKIDMORE WATHEY - Stonewood, W.Va.
Shirley Naomi Claypool Skidmore Wathey, 62, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept.
13, 1998, at her home. She was born in Anmoore, W.Va., Jan. 6, 1936, a
daughter of the late John W. "Bill" and Hazel Bell Amos Menear Claypool.
She attended Campground Community Church in East Liverpool. She was
proceeded in death by her husband, Daniel B. Wathey; two sons, John W.
Wathey and Danile B. Wathey, Jr.; and two brothers, John R. Claypool and
Darrell W. "Billy" Claypool. She is survived by three sons, Joseph W.
Skidmore of Lost Creek, W.Va., Steven Lee Skidmore of Stonewood, and
Jeffrey Wayne Skidmore of East Liverpool; a daughter, Kathy L. Skidmore
Wilson of East Liverpool; two step-daughters, Janna Wathey Cabele and
Patricia Wathey Barnes Holden of East Liverpool; eight brothers, Robert
Claypool, Ernest Claypool, and Dorsey Claypool of Stonewood, Charles "Pete"
Claypool of Philippi, W.Va., Ronald Claypool of Reynoldsville, Rev. James
Claypool of Enterprise, W. Va., and Donald Menear and Carroll Menear of
East Liverpool, five sisters, Louella Claypool Frable and Sharon Menear of
East Liverpool, Mary Chandler of Philippi, Mrs. Frank (Patty) Basell of
Stonewood and Mrs. George (Joyce) Cross of Belington, W.Va.; seven
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren. The
Rev. Benjamin Floyd Samms will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at
the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg, W.Va. Burial
will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Columbiana County Memorial Park in
