Obituary: Mrs. F. S. Filler
Parsons, April 28, 1942 - Mrs. F. S. FILLER, 79, of Parsons, died at her home Monday
morning at 4:30 of complications following a three-month illness. She was born in
Ray's Hill, Bedford county, Pa. October 24, 1861, a daughter of the late Isaac
and Margaret HYMES THOMAS. She was married to Mr. FILLER, October 16, 1881, at
Ray's Mill [sic], and they came to Parsons 36 years ago, where her husband was a
carpenter for the Western Maryland Railroad company. He also served as mayor of
Parsons during the World war. She is survived by her husband and the following
sons and daughters: Carl, Hinkle, Ridgley, and Adolph, Cumberland, Md.; Fred,
Charleston; Percy, Parsons; Mrs. Margaret WILLIAMSON, Hedgesville; Mrs. Myrtle
HARPER, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Sarah PERCIVAL, Covington, Ky. Mrs. FILLER was
a life-long member of the Methodist church. Members of St. John's church honored
them last October on their 60th wedding anniversary. Funeral arrangements are
incomplete.
