Obituary: Mrs. Naomi Dell Snyder Holbert Dies
[1932 or 33 - no date] Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Saturday
morning, at the Philippi Baptist church for Mrs. Naomi DELL SNYDER HOLBERT, 53,
wife of Walter W. HOLBERT, of Broaddus Hill, who died at 3 o'clock Thursday
morning, at a local hospital, after an illness since Friday a week, from
pneumonia. The body lay in state from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Saturday at the
church. The Rev. C. V. COCHRAN, pastor of the Baptist church officiated and
interment was made in the Mt. Olive church cemetery, about two miles west of
Philippi. Mrs. HOLBERT was born April 3, 1884 at Boothsville, this state, a
daughter of the late Enoch EVANS SNYDER, and Mrs. Lelia WARE POWELL SNYDER. She
has lived in Philippi for a number of years. She was a member of the Baptist
church here and very active in all its affairs. At the time of her death she was a
teacher in the junior department of the Sunday school and has held offices in
practically all the organizations of the church. She is a former pianist also.
Mrs. HOLBERT is survived by her husband, of Philippi; her mother of Fairmont and
by three children, namely, John Lester HOLBERT, of Philippi; Eugene HOLBERT, of
Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Lelia Margaret HOLBERT HUTTON, of Steubenville, Ohio. She
also is survived by one grandchild, Catherine Ann HOLBERT of Philippi.
