Philippi Girl Wins Test
Jun Lee CORDER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. CORDER, is the winner of the
Golden Horseshoe test for Barbour County. Her average grade for the test was
92 and 2/5 percent. Charles E. REEDY, of Junior, was second with an average
grade of 88. Miss Corder is awarded a trip to Charleston on Friday, May 13,
where she will be crowned "Lady of the Golden Horseshoe" in connection with
state-wide ceremonies to be held there that day. County Superintendent of
Schools Bretsel HARRIS was in charge of the test.
