From a Barbour County Scrapbook
Transcribed and submitted by Linda Graham.
My grandmother, Addie Wince Zinn, kept this collection of clippings from the Barbour Democrat
and other newspapers in her scrapbooks. The clippings cover births, deaths, marriages and
various news items from 1927 through 1960. Most are from the area around Philippi, where my
grandmother lived. Pasted into the scrapbooks are hundreds of pieces of history, lists of
inhabitants, etc. I really believe they would be of great help to someone, or perhaps to many
"someones", as they search for their roots in Barbour County.
