    The Descendants of
    John and Mary Barnhouse

    SOLOMON

    John and Mary Barnhouse lived in Hampshire County, WV. They came to Randolph County, which later became Barbour County, around 1800, where they settled and bought property. When the property was sold, all of their children were named in deeds in Randolph County. Solomon finally ended up with most of the property that his father owned. Solomon sold his property and moved to Pendleton County. There was no record that he ever married.

    GEORGE

    George married Susannah Pitman 29 May 1810.
    Their son, George, Jr., b. 1823, married Elizabeth McDaniel.

    JOHN, JR.

    John, Jr. married Elizabeth Shallingham, daughter of Hugh Shallingham.
    They settled in Monongalia County, WV.

    BARBARA

    Barbara married Philip Knuce 31 Aug 1795.

    Phillip moved to Lewis County, now Calhoun County, WV. He lived there awhile and then went to Meigs County, Ohio. He probably died there.

    (I) Phillip married Mary A. Goff, daughter of James and Elizabeth Goff. Phillip buried in Temple Cemetery, Meigs County, Ohio. Mary A. (Goff) Barnhouse married Elisha Sisson 26 July 1849 Meigs County, Ohio.

    2.) Philip, b. 1847.

    3.) James Carico married Emily Wood 13 Oct 1856 Meigs County, OH.

    4.) Joanna married Andrew Cottrill 8 April 1850 Meigs County, Ohio.

    (II) Solomon married Libby Goff 17 Jan 1829 Lewis County, WV, daughter of James and Elizabeth Goff. Solomon moved to Meigs County, Ohio. He was there in 1850 but probably moved on somewhere.

    2.) Elizabeth, b. 1836, married William Deevers 13 Sept 1859.

    3.) Mary Ann, b. 1838.

    4.) Rachel, b. 1841.

    5.) Monaco, b. 1841.
