"The old mill, Grantsville, and the Little Boy Bill, Taken 1893." This notation was written on the back by my aunt, Ella Madge Stump. I believe "the Little Boy Bill" is William Stump, son of Taylor Randolph Stump, and my Uncle Bill, who was a riverboat captain. On his letters to me, he always included his trademark at the top - a drawing of a stump, with an axe sending chips flying.
The sign on the mill reads:
A. Huffman & Sons
Flooring Mill (or is it Flouring Mill?)
Grantsville, WVA
