MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION


WILLIAM HADDOX, SR. In his Revolutionary deposition taken September 17, 1832, in the Harrison County Court, William Haddox, age 74 years:
“who being first sworn doth on his oath make the following declarations: That he was born in Fauquier County in the state of Virginia the 15th day of March 1758, that he was drafted into the service of the United States as a militia man under Captain Robert Cunningham in the County of Hampshire and State of Virginia. The two men who swore that they believed he was a soldier and Indian Spy, in the Revolutionary War were Thomsberry Baily and John Huff.

MICHAEL STUMP is listed in West Virginians in the Revolution

Born in Culpepper County, Virginia in 1764, and in the company of Thomas Martin, he saw military service in 1780, 1781,1782, and 1783. He applied for pension in 1834 which was refused although his claim was supported by John Likens, W. G. W. Currin and others. His grave is probably on the the right fork of Steer Creek, Gilmer Co., West Virginia.

JOSEPH WILSON was born in 1757 and died in Calhoun County WV in 1872. He served in the American Revolution.
