In the name of God Amen. I, George Sharpes of Sycamore Calhoun County State of West Virginia being of sound mind and memory do hereby make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.
First - I order and direct my Executor as soon after my decease as practicable to pay off and discharge all the debts, dues and liabilities that may exist against me at the time of my decease -
Second - I give and bequeath unto my wife Priscilla Sharpes all my household and kitchen furniture to have and to hold or dispose of at her pleasure.
Thirdly - I give and bequeath unto my son George W. Sharpes' heirs $345.00 Dollars to be paid as follows 1st $50.00 Dollars out of the personal property. Secondly $100.00 Dollars out of the second land note. $100.00 Dollars out of 3rd land note, 4th $45.00 Dollars out of the 4th land note and a release from all indebtedness.
Fourthly - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Sharpes 1st a release of a note and its interest of $140.00 Dollars. 2nd $100.00 Dollars out of the 3rd land note 3dly $70.00 Dollars out of the 4th land note.
Fifthly - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah A. Roe's heirs $6.00 Dollars out of 4th land note. Also a release unto them of all my claims against Granvill Roe their father.
Sixthly - I give and bequeth unto my son Wm. J. Sharpes 1st a release of all his indebtedness to me.
Seventhly - I give and bequeth unto my daughter M. Jane Newlon 1st a credit of $310.00 Dollars on a Note I hold against J. B. Newlon her husband.
Eightly - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nannie Rawson, 1st $120.00 Dollars out of 2nd land note. 2nd $160.00 Dollars out of 4th land note, also a release of all indebtedness.
Ninthly - I give and bequeath unto my son J. W. Sharpes 1stly $400.00 Dollars to be paid as follows. 1st $100.00 Dollars to be paid out of a sale of personal property. 2nd $100.00 Dollars from 2nd land note. 3rd $100.00 Dollars from 3rd land note, also a release from all indebtedness.
Tenthly - unto my son J. S. Sharpes I have already given his portion of my estate.
Eleventhly - I give and bequeath unto my son J. M. Sharpes $345.00 Dollars to be paid a follows 1st a release of indebtedness of $145.00 2nd $100.00 Dollars out of personal property 3rd $50.00 out of 1st land note, 4thly $50.00 out of 2nd land note
Twelfthly, I give and bequeath unto my son A. J. Sharpes $345 to be paid as follows 1st a release of indebtedness $125.00 2nd $50.00 out of personal property, 3rd $100.00 out of 2nd land note, 4thly $70.00 out of 4th land note.
Thirteenthly - I give and bequeath unto my daughter E. R. Shepler $310 to be paid as follows 1st a release of $250 of indebtedness 2nd $60.00 out of 4th land note
14thly - I give and bequeath unto my son B. T. Sharpes $345.00 to be paid as follows. 1st a release of indebtedness $220.00, 2nd $50.00 out of 2nd land note. 3dly $75 out of 4th land note.
15thly - I give and bequeath unto my daughter R. M. Barr 50 acres of land 31 already deeded to her the remainder to be taken from 64 acres deeded to Worth Barr by M. L. Sharpes.
16thly - I give and bequeath unto my son Amos N. Sharpes $400.00 to be paid as follows. 1st $25.00 out of personal property, 2ly $100.00 out of 1st land note 2nd $100.00 out of 2nd land note, 3 $100.00 out of 3rd land note, 4ly $75.00 out of 4th land note.
17thly - I give and bequeath unto my son M. L. Sharpes by deed bering date 7th day of February 1878 all my real estate 567 acres of land more or less on the following conditions to wit 1st M. L. Sharpes is to provide an ample support for his parents as long as they live and bear all funeral expenses giving them a decent burial 2ndly I further order & will that he M. L. Sharpes shall execute 4 notes for $2000.00 named in said deed known metioned in this will as land notes & numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 according to time the come due. 1 Note $250 dollars due in 1 year after my decease 2 Note $500 due in 2 years 3 note 0f $500- due in 3 years & 4 note of $750.00 due in four years after my decease. I further order that M. L. Sharpes shall execute the above named notes & deliver them to J. S. Sharpes my administrator within 10 days after my decease.
18thly - I hereby nominate and apoint J. S. Sharpes my Executor. In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my name this 8th day of December 1881 AD
The above and foregoing instrument was at the date thereof signed sealed published and declared by the said George Sharpes, as and for his last will and testament, in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.
