Greenbrier Historical Society, the WebPage

We've posted our own home page for the society.

    Appalachian Springs

We publish a quarterly genealogical newsletter, Appalachian Springs, and an annual book-length publication, The Journal of the Greenbrier Historical Society. Both are full of helpful genealogical & historical information and are part of our membership package which is $20 per year. We currently have over 700 members across the US.

    ... and The Journal

Appalachian Springs includes queries and genealogy information and photographs that are from original documents, letters, and papers in the Society's collection. The Journal (published since the society's incorporation in 1963) also includes such information, but in a much more detailed format. For example, last year's Journal included the Deed Index to 18th & 19th century Greenbrier County deeds. Back issues are available.

    North House Museum Gift Shop

We also have unique products for sale by mail through the Society's North House Museum Gift Shop, such as The History of Greenbrier County by Rice, Greenbrier Pioneers and Their Homes, and many more. Our latest product for researchers is a full color reproduction of an 1830s Map of Virginia, which includes all of Virginia (and West Virginia), and parts of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. It is a reproduction of a rare tourist's map that is on exhibit at the museum.
