This census was taken by Clifton and Lila Funkhouser in 1967. They recorded many Hardy County cemeteries and generously wanted their work made available to the public; therefore, they gave a copy to the Hardy County Public Library. It is reproduced here with permission from the Library.

This cemetery is located near Old Fields Post Office, six miles North of Moorefield. Census taken in November, 1967.

Note from Clifton and Lila Funkhouser:
"Several plain unlettered slabs. This cemetery was in
terrible condition, stones down, etc. Oren P. VanMeter
one of the ancestors that had moved to Pennsylvania in
1931 came back with his work and money - he put this
Cemetery in order. Homer Raines said he was helping in
grave digging here and they dug up some lead pipe that
had been laid for water supply from a spring above,
going to the VanMeter house (now Williams in 1967) - two
lines were laid - much of which was dug up and used during
the Civil War."
