Peter was an older brother of Daniel Huffman. Peter and Daniel married sisters, Barbara and Rosanna Peterson. Peter and his family came to Ohio from Hardy County in 1805, seventeen years before Daniel made his move to Ohio. Although they settled in different counties, I would guess that their homes were about 25 miles apart.

The grave markers are located at the "Love of Light Chapel", formerly the Selma Methodist Church. Selma is in Clark County, Ohio, just a mile or so from the Greene County line.

Husband's Notes.
Came from Hardy County, VA, to Ross Twp., Greene County, Ohio in 1805. Brother of Daniel Huffman Sr. Purchased 128 acres of land which he cleared for farming. Built a log cabin that is said to have had only a door of some type cloth material for twenty years. In 1825, Peter built a new hewn log home which was one of the finest in the township.
