Will of Adam Radabaugh 1802 - 1806

In the Name of God amen I Adam Radabough of Hardy county and
State of Virginia being very old and infirm am taking mortality
into consideration as it is appointed for all men to die but not
Doubting but God will Raise the body again at the Great day of
Resurrection and I being weak in body but of Sound memory Blessed
be God to this sixth day of August one Thousand Eight Hundred and
two make an publish this my last will and Testament in manner
following that is to say first I Desire my body to be Buried in
Christian Like manner after my Decease and all my just Debts and
funeral expences to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named out
of my Estate.
 
Secondly I give and Bequeath all to my Son Peter Radabough all my
Lands lying and being in the County of Hardy on the South fork of
the South Branch.  

Thirdly I give and Bequeath to my Son Henry Radabough ten pounds
in Cash.  

Fourthly I give and Bequeath to my grandchildren that is to say
to Mary Higher, Peter Higher and Christian Higher Six pounds
thirteen shillings and four pence each of them in cash it being
their Mother Deceased part of my Estate.  

Fifthly I give and Bequeath to my grand Daughter Barbara Carshner
Twenty pounds in cash.  

Sixthly I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Mary Mowyers twenty
pounds in cash to be her and her heirs forever.

Seventhly I give and Bequeath all the remainder of my Estate of
whatever nature or kind it be not heretofore willed away by me to
my four sons that is to say to my son Henry Radabough  Martin
Radabough   George Radabough   and Adam Radabough to be equally
divided amongst them four to be the use of them and their heirs
for ever.  

Eightly and lastly I nominate and appoint Christian Simon and
Peter Radabough to be the sole executors of this my last will and
Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
the day and year first above.

At a Court held for Hardy county the 10th day of September 1806
this last will and Testament of Adam Radabough deceased was
proved by the oaths of Abraham Simon and Christian Simon jr. two
of the witnesses thereto and is Ordered to be recorded and on the
motion of Peter Radabough one of the Executors in the said will
mentioned certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate
thereof in due form he having taken the oath of an Executor and
together with Christian Simon his security entered into and
acknowledged & bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars
conditioned as the law directs.
