Appraisement of the Estate of John Shell Sen. Dec'd

Transcribed by Arcella T. Moore from the original in the Hardy County records. This list of the property of a 19th century household and farm may contain some misreadings due to unfamiliarity with the handwriting and terminology of the times. An enlightening article in Foxfire verified the parts of the still, but we are in the dark as to the meaning of a Ball mare and arces -- could this be axes? Indecipherable words are indicated by (--).
