Sale of land from Albert G. and Angelina Watson to Daniel R. McNeill, 9 March 1859

This deed made this 9th day of March 1859 Between Albert G. Watson and
Angelina his Wife, of the one part, and Daniel R McNeill of the other part,
all of Hardy County and state of Virginia. Witnesseth: that for and in
consideration of twelve hundred and fifteen dollars in hand paid by the said
Daniel R McNeill to the said Albert G. Watson before the sealing and delivery
of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said
Albert G. Watson and Angelina his Wife hath bargained and sold and by these
presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Daniel R McNeill his heirs and
assigns three tracts of land lying and being in the said County of Hardy on
Thorn Run a drain of Pattersons Creek adjoining his own lands, the lands of
Samuel Babb and others, the first named of said three tracts is the tract on
which the said Watson Now resides, conveyed to him by Peter Shell and Wife,
Known as the old Marguiss Place and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a
white oak at the foot of hill by Thorn run thence S74-W25 poles to a pine in
Babbs Line thence with his line (corrected) N45-W182 poles to 3 white oaks
corner to said Babbs, thence leaving said Babbs line, N42-E12 poles to 3
white oak saplings near the head of a [Louon???], thence N25-E50 poles to a
span [spanish??] oak and 2 hickories thence S55-E45 poles to 3 white oaks by
a drain thence S212-W34 poles to 3 white oaks on the side of a hill
S2-E98[48?] poles to the Beginning containing seventy eight and three
quarters acres: also one other tract adjoining the above, patented to John
Smith of Sarah on the 30th day of [???] 1840 and bounded as follows:
Beginning at 3 pines corner to the Bishop tract thence S88-W80 poles to a
pine, red oak and hickory on a hill thence N44-W18 poles to 2 pines thence
N34[9]-E55 poles to pine and chesnut oak thence N10-E25 poles to 2 white oaks
and hickory Babbs corner thence N15-W22poles to a white oak a corner of 78
3/4 acre tract on the South side of Thorn Run (corrected) thence with a line
of the same N2-W78 poles to 2 white oaks on the west side of a drain thence
N22-E34 poles to three white oaks on the bank of said drain a division corner
thence S46-E76 poles to 2 pines corner to Cornell now Lyons and the Bishop
tract, thence S1479 poles to the Beginning, containing one hundred acres: and
lastly one other tract Known as the Bishop Tract patented to one Caleb
[Hinns?]on the 12th day of March 1789 sold to James Hershey & Wife to
William Wilson, and by said Wilson to the present occupant the said Albert G.
Watson, and Bounded as follows, Beginning at 2 white oaks Near a drain and
corner to the said McNeills, Ralph [?? probably Babb] tract thence
S81[61?]-W90 poles to a pine thence N45-W160 poles to 4 Small pines on a hill
side thence N50 poles to a stooping white oak and a gum by Thorn Run, At[?]
same corner continued 132 poles further thence S85-E252 poles to the line of
the said McNeill, thence with the same S5-W160 poles to the Beginning
containing 290 acres. To Have and To Hold the said three tracts of land with
is (sic) appurtences to him the said Daniel R. McNeill his heirs & assigns
forever. And lastly the said Albert G. Watson and Angelina his Wife doth
hereby warrant generally the premises hereby conveyed by them
