Sale of land from Elizabeth Wilson (widow of James) and children John,
Sandford, Juanna(Joanna), Washington, James, Mary Fisher and husband David to
Ransom Crites, October 1867

This deed made this [date not given] day of October 1867 between Elizabeth
Wilson widow of James Wilson decd. David Fisher and Mary his wife (formerly
Wilson), John Wilson, Sandford Wilson, Juanna (sic) Wilson, Washington Wilson and
James Wilson children and heirs of the said James Wilson Decd. of the first
part and Ransom Crites of the County of Hardy and State of Virginia of the
second witness that whereas the parties of the first part have bargained and
sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said Ransom Crites

consideration of three hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof the
parties of the first part do hereby acknowledge and two hundred and twenty
dollars to be paid on the first day of November 1868 and two hundred and
twenty dollars on the first day of November 1869 for the payment of the last
two installments a lien is hereby expresly (sic) reserved upon the premises
hereby conveyed to wit two tracts of land lying and being in the county of
Hardy on Huttons [corner?] which said tracts? with other lands were conveyed
to Felix Welton by deed from James Meiles executor of David Meiles Decd. of
record in the County Court of Hardy to which deed reference is made for the
boundaries and description of said two tracts of land one of which contains
one hundred acres and the other fifty three acres and the said two tracts
were conveyed to the said James Wilson decd. by Thomas [Carscedon??] agent for
Maria McNeil by deed dated June 6(,) 1837 and recorded in book 14 page 191 of
the records of Hardy County which two said tracts of lands with their
appurtenances the parties of the first the said Elizabeth Wilson widow of
said James Wilson decd. David S.Fisher and Mary his wife John Wilson,
Sandford Wilson, Washington Wilson and James D. Wilson do hereby grant and
convey unto the said ransom Crites his heirs and assigns with general
warranty - witness the following signatures and seals

Before one Francis Harris a justice of the peace in and for the county
aforesaid personally appeared John Wilson & Joanna Wilson two of the grantors
of the foregoing conveyance and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof,
their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed.
Witness my hand and seal this 29th day of October A.D. 1867

I John Orr Jr. clerk of the court of common pleas a court of law and record
of said County do hereby certify that Francis Harris before whom the
[annexed??] deed of conveyance was taken was at this date a jusice of the peace
in and for said county duly authorized by the laws of Ohio to take the same

came Washington Wilson above named and acknowledged to the signing and
sealing of the foregoing instrament to be his voluntary act and deed this 31
day of October AD 1867
