This indenture made this 23rd day of July in the year of our Lord 1851
Between Hiram Wilson & Catherine his wife of the County of Hardy and the
State of Virginia of the one part and Daniel R. McNeill of the County and
State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth: that for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred dollars current money of Virginia to the said Hiram
Wilson in hand by the said Daniel R. McNeill ...
... a certain tract of land ... being in the County of Hardy (except that
portion there of which lies in conflict with a tract of land belonging to the
heirs of Samuel McMechin [deceased?] being seven and one half acres of land
and situate on the waters of Pattersons Creek & adjoining the lands of Daniel
R. McNeill [now deceased?] and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a
sugar in McMechin heirs line on the cedar knob thence N69-W124 poles to a
black oak & chestnut oak in McNeills line thence with his line N15-E67 poles
[crossing?] a drain to four chestnut oaks thence leaving said line S81-E122
poles to a white oak and two red oak saplings in the McMechins line thence
with the same S32-W115 poles to the Beginning - containing sixty two acres
more or less it being the same tract of land that was granted by the
Commonwealth of Virginia to Martin McNemar by patent bearing date the 9th day
of May 1835 & by the said Martin McNemar conveyed to the said Hiram Wilson by
deed of bargain & sale bearing date the 26th day of March 1849 ...
