Directions: The cemetery is located on the main road in the north end of Ravenswood. I visited the cemetery on May 13, 2006. I took photos of some markers, mostly in the old section, which is at the farthest north end. If you would like a copy of the original, higher definition photo, contact Betty Briggs My comments are in brackets [ ] and include information from my own database at West Virginia Pioneers. Where I was unable to read the inscription fully, I checked "Jackson County WV Ravenswood Cemetery" by Carolyn Thomas Miihlbach. She has listed the graves by section and row, and has included notes from Sue Proctor Miller from a listing of the old cemetery done by her aunt, Eunice Proctor Perkins. Some of those stones are no longer in the cemetery and she states "Over a period of years, the old section of the cemetry has been vandalized. When questioned about the broken and missing tombstones, the caretakers of the cemetery said they were probably at the bottom of the Turkey Run Lake since the lake borders the old section of the cemetery."
