Coleman Chapel Cemetery




Directions: From Ravenswood, go north on Rt 68 about 5 miles. The church is on the right side of the road and the cemetery is behind it.

Clement Matheny visited the cemetery in April 15, 2009 and took photographs of all of the stones. The pictures are cropped and resized for faster viewing but if you want a better quality picture, email your request to Betty Briggs.


  • Plaque on Church Coleman Chapel Erected in 1860 on land donated by Thomas Coleman, who donated half of building cost. Family and community members donated the balance. First Church service June 22, 1860. Deeded to Methodist Episcopal Church South. During the Civil War. Union Home Guard occupied the Church. Presented by Capt. Robert Ellyson Chapter, West Virginia Society of the National Society Colonial Dame SVII Century July 1998
