Margaret McNemar, Will

Margaret McNemar was born October 18, 1813, and died May 23, 1906. She was the daughter of Phillip McNemar and Elizabeth "Betty" Beasley. She married Jacob Morrison August 13, 1835 in Lewis County, VA, son of James Morison and Elizabeth Bozarth. He was born June 16, 1813 and died March 08, 1885.

Lewis County West Virginia Will Book D, pages 128 and 129
September 1, 1903

In the name of God, Amen.
I, Margaret Morrison, of the County of Lewis and state of West Virginia being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declair [sic] this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made.

First, I give and bequeath to my only daughter, JENNIE MORRISON, my interest in a certain tract of land bequeathed by my husband, JACOB MORRISON, in his will to certain of his children viz: GIDEON MORRISON, LEE MORRISON and FRANKLIN P. MORRISON, the same having been held and controlled by my son, FRANKLIN P. MORRISON, at the discretion of the other two heirs, the same having since been sold by G. W. MARSH, administrator do bonis non, of JACOB MORRISON.

Second, I give and bequeath to my only daughter, JENNIE MORRISON, my interest in a tract of sixty acres of land, the same on which my residence now stands, the same being bequeathed to my son, FRANKLIN P. MORRISON at my death, as provided in the last will and testament of my husband JACOB MORRISON (see will) and the same being recorded in Will Book "C" page 99.

Third, I give and bequeath, to my only daughter, JENNIE MORRISON, all my personal property, and any property that may revert to me from any source whatsoever.

Fourth, I give and bequeath to my only daughter, JENNIE MORRISON, a certain one- third interest in a tract of land situate in Lewis county West Virginia, on Sand Fork of the Little Kanawha River, the residue two-thirds having been owned by JOHN C. CHIDESTER, the before mentioned one-third having reverted to me by the will of my son FRANKLIN P. MORRISON (see will).

Fifth, I give and bequeath to my only daughter, JENNIE MORRISON, any money that I may have at my decease.

We hereby witness that we each saw the above signature written and signed in the presence of each other.

I, MARGARET MORRISON having mad [sic] and duly executed my last will and testament in writing bearing date Sept. 1st 1903 Now I do hereby declare this present writing to be as a codicil to my said will and direct the same to be annexed thereto and taken s a part thereof To-wit: I hereby appoint J.M. WEST as the Executor of my last will annexed hereto in witness whereof I the said MARGARET MORRISON have to this codicil set my hand and seal this 16th day of May 1905.

This is to certify that I have this day received from JENNIE MORRISON My daughter One hundred dollars in full of all Balances due me on my personal property and real estate excepting the sixty acres willed me by my husband for my support which I hold my natural life and which at my death is hereby transferred in fee simple to my daughter JENNIE MRRISON in the consideration of the above one hundred dollars and other payments made heretofore in witness whereof I have this day Signed my name and affixed my seal in presence of the following witness.
