Looking for information on Joseph Booher (1813-1876) m: Jane Deviese in Lewis Co., WV. about 1832. Jane died about 1941 and Joesph moved to Ohio about 1952 and married Amada Foust. Haven't been able to connect Joseph to other Boohers in WV. Old family story is that our earliest Booher ancestor killed someone in Germany, came to America and changed his name. Anybody ever heard a story like this? Any Booher information would be appreciated.

Elisha Hall, b: 15 Dec. 1801 and Susanna Scott Hall b: 5 May 1789 resided in Lewis Co., VA. where their seven sons were born. The sons were Lemuel, David, Emanuel, William, Elijah, Elisha and Lawson. The family moved to Kalamazoo Co., MI in 1831. If there are any Hall and Scott family members remaining in Lewis Co., I would like to hear from them.
Would like to know parents of Nimrod Foster and Mary Elizabeth Dawson, who were married sometime around 1851. In 1874 Mary died and Nimrod married Amanda Riffle Groves, in 1882, whose husband Horace Selden Groves had died in 1877. I don't know her parents either. When Amanda and Nimrod show up in the 1900 Lewis County census, there is a child Ida B. Foster, that was born before Amanda and Nimrod got married and after both their previous spouses had died. Who are her real parents?

(before there was a Nicholas Co.)( Nicholas Co. was formed in 1818). Col. Edward Campbell, pioneer historian says: quot; From him came all the Woodses that live in Nicholas Co. & quot; Brown, William & quot; History of Nicholas County, page 390. Stephen's sons: Stephen Jr., Isaac & John. John is my line. John married Rebecca Hannah. Does anyone have information on the family and ancestors of William B. Green (b. ca 1812); married Elizabeth Cutlip ca 1833 in Lewis-Upshur Co. area; died 1851-60 in that area. Elizabeth moved to Braxton County before 1870 with daughter Jemima (census data) and died there in 1873.
Their children are: James, Jonathan, Eliza Ann (my great grandmother who married John Davis), George, Mary, Rachel, Sarah, Susan, and Jemima (data from Lewis Co. census). All information and suggestions will be appreciated.
