I have not come across any pictures of the first courthouse in Logan County WV. The picture below is the Logan County Courthouse which was built in the 1870's, after the Yankees had burned the prior courthouse in 1862. What was left of the brick structure was removed in 1866. John William Straton was hired by the court to build this courthouse. It was finished around 1875.
This courthouse was torn down in 1905 and a new one built. The design of the courthouse shown below is designed similar to the Wyoming County WV Courthouse. This was Logan County's third courthouse. It burned and the courthouse which stands now was finished in 1965. I will be adding a picture of our "now" courthouse at a later date.
