The following information was furnished Margaret Mnich

Robert Reed first married Sarah Ann Winters in 1826.
She died in 1831, leaving behind two small children.

He then married Malinda/Melinda Riggs in 1833 and had four children – Virginia (Reed) Harr, Minerva (Reed) Holt, Lewis S. Reed, and Caroline Reed.

Robert is buried with Sarah at the Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport, West Virginia, while Malinda/Melinda is buried with her three children (Caroline, Lewis, and Minerva) at the Janes Memorial Cemetery in Taylor County, West Virginia. Virginia Harr is buried at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Grafton, West Virginia.

According to his death-record, Robert Reed died near Boothsville in Taylor County, (W)Va on Sept. 12, 1855. Cause of death: Quensy. He was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Hugh and Mary Reed. His spouse, Melinda Reed, was the informant.

He was buried in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Harrison County, WV
