Will of Margaret Altmire

I, Margaret Altmyre of Benwood W.Va. do make this my last will in manner and form following that is to say I give devise and bequeath my estate and property as follows

First: I direct that all expenses attending my last sickness be paid, including my funeral expenses - and I direct that the same be paid out of money that the Wheeling Steel Works Company owe me.

Second: To my daughter Mary J. sowers I give devise and bequeath my House and Lot situated in Benwood Marshall County West Virginia and known as lot number seventeen (17)

Third: To my son Peter Altmyre I give one hundred dollars the same to be paid out of money due me from the Wheeling Steel Works Company.

Fifth: To my daughter Mary Ann Boer? i give Ten Dollars the same to be paid out of money due me from the Wheeling Steel Works Company.

Sixth; To my daughter mary J. Sowers I give all the balance of my personal estate of every kind including the remainder of money due me from the Wheeling Steel Works Company.

In Witness thereof I the said Margaret Altmyre have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of June AD. 1888.

The said Margaret Altmyre at her house in Benwood WVa on this 8th day of June 1888 signed sealed and acknowledged this instrument and published and declared the same as and for her last will and at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as witnesses

A paper writing -- date on the 8th day of June 1888 purporting to be the last will and testament of Margaret Altmyre late of this county dec'd was this day fully proved before me in my office by the oaths of H. T. Ford & A. L. Pelley the suscribing witnesses thereto & is ordered to be recorded, and on motion of Mary J. Sowers HPM Merriman? is appointed administrator with said will -- & -- the said HPM Merriman? took the oath as required by law and who together with H. T. Ford his -- who qualified as to his sufficiency entered into and acknowledged their bond in the -- sum of one thousand dollars conditioned and payable as the law directs, Thereupon Certificate is granted the said HPM Merriman? for obtaining letters of administration on said estate with said will -- in due form.
