I Samuel Jones of the County of Marshall and State of West Virginia do make
this my last will and testament in manner following that  this is to say
1st my will is that the expenses of my last sickness and funeral be first paid.
2nd I give and devise to my sister Lydia Howard one hundred dollars
3rd I give and devise to Joseph H. Maple and Mary his wife two hundred dollars
to be paid when my real estate is sold and proceeds received.
4th The proceeds of my estate after the above named amounts and necessary
expenses in executing this my last will testament are fully paid. I give and
devise as follows to (wit:)1st one third to the American Bible Society. 2nd
one third to the Missionary Society of the M E Church to China.
3rd and the remaining third to the Superannuated or wornout preachers of the
M E Church north.  I do hereby Constitute and appoint James B. McClanaban
of the County of Marshall and State of West Virginia to be the executor of this
my last will and testament and I hereby authorize him to sell my real
estate in Union District Marshall County West Virginia for ready cash
within one year of my decease and make a lawful deed for the same
and pay the proceeds as received in order as named in this my last will and
testament, and I will that said that executor remain on said real estate
during one year from the time of my decease to settle up the business free of
rent a reasonable compensation as excutor of said estate. In testimony
I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of September 1873.

Signed sealed published and declared by Samuel Jones the above named
testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who
at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses

West Virginia Marshall County court Nov. term 1873
A paper writing purporting to be the last and will and testament of
Samuel Jones late of this county Dec. was this day fully proven in
open court by Willam McHenry and James McHenry the subscribing witness
thereto and ordered to be recorded and James B. McClanaban excutor
therein named. Who made oath thereto and together with Nicholas
Dowbr his Serenity who qualified as to his sufficiancy Extend
into ans acknowledged thier bond in the penalty of $3000.00
conditions and payable as the law directs. Certificate is granted
the said James B. McClanaban for obtaining a probate of said will
in due form and Nicolas Dowbr James McHenry and Alex Eskey are
appointed appraisors of said estate
