The first Methodist class in Cameron district was organized at the Clouston home in 1836 by the Rev. Moses Tichnell, assisted by a local preacher, EDWARD DOWLER.

WILLIAM CLOUSTON was class leader and held meetings in his home, which was open for preaching twice a month. Through his efforts, a log chapel was built in 1841. The little congregation would come in wagons drawn by oxen, bringing lunch with them as they had a long sermon in the forenoon and another in the afternoon. Little sacks were fastened on the ends of long sticks and the stewards took the collection by passing these, so that if a person was asleep they could poke him with the stick to awaken him. This church continued its course of good work on through the subsequent years until 1875 when a remarkable revival was held under the preaching of Rev. T. B. Hughes.

In 1887 the old log church gave way to a beautiful frame chapel that presented an attractive appearance to the traveler along the Cameron and Waynesburg Road (now U.S, 250) This church included a neat fence and substantial stone wall costing over $1500. It was completed and dedicated on Dec. 18, 1887.

I also believe that Alexander Ogle is buried in this cemetery with his wife Julia A. Ogle, there are markers on either side of Julia, one is buried face down in the ground, the other is broken near the bottom with the top part missing.
