Be it remembered that I, E.B. McCardel of Meade District County of Marshall and State of West Virginia, being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, to wit;

First all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be first fully paid.

Second I give divise and bequeath all the rest resadue and remainder of my estate both real and personal to my beloved wife Amanda McCardel to have to hold to her my said wife as long as she remains my widow. Except one promissory note, I hold against H. S. Richmond for the amount of fifteen dollars which when collected it is my will that it be equally divided between my wife and children, to wit; Amanda McCardel, Frank McCardel, and Lucinda McCardel. In the event of the re marriage of my wife Amanda McCardel then it is my will that she be entitled to her dower intrust only in my said estate during her natural lifetime.

At or after the demise of my wife Amanda McCardel, it is my will that the real estate consisting of sixty acres and 125 poles of land more or less lying on the waters of Narrows run Meade Disstrict adjoining land of Wm. Lutes, Geo Carmichael, I. B. Blake and others now to me belonging, shall go to my son Frank McCardel on the following conditions to wit; that he pay to my daughter Lucinda McCardel four hundred dollars divided in five equal annual payments with four per cent interest per annum against my estate at this time. And at the death of my said wife Amanda McCardel whatever of personal property if any shall remain, it is my will that of the same shall go to my son Frank McCardel and the residue one third go to my daughter Lucina McCardel.

I nominate and appoint my said wife Amanda McCardel and Andrew McCardel both of Meade District Marshall county, W.Va. to be executors of this my last will and testament.
