Marshall County West Virginia Will Book #2 Elijah Griffith - Will probated 1886 - page 254 February 11th 1878 Know all men by these present: That I Elijah Griffith being of sound mind and body do make this my last will and testament. 1st: I give to my wife Annie all my property both personal and real should she be living at my decease and after all just debts are paid to have and to hold during her life time. 2nd: I give to my son Joesph the farm upon which he now resides paying to Nancy A. Jones my daughter the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.) 3rd: I give to my daughter Phebe M. one third of the Home farm and one third of all of the stock on the home farm. She has the privilege of a House in the House in which I now own. 4th: I give to my son George S. T. all the balance of my property both personal and real, he paying to my daughter Nancy Ann Jones the sum of one thousand dollars ($1000.) as follows: Two hundred dollars the first year after my decease and the balance in two years. Also George S. T. Griffith bearing my funeral expenses giving me a decent burial. 5th: I give to Samuel Griffiths son William the sum of fifty dollars ($50.) to be paid by George S. T. Griffith. 6th: I give to Samuel Griffiths daughter West Virginia the sum of fifty dollars to be paid by Phebe M. Griffith. (?) my hand seal: Elijah Griffith attest H. C. Sanford T. B. Weekly West Virginia Clerks office Marshall County April 17th 1886. A paper writing bearing date on the 11th day of February 1878 purporting to be the last will and testament of Elijah Griffith late of this County died? Was this day proved by the oath of H. S. Sanford one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto before me in my office and continued as to T. B. Weekly the other subscribing witness. A paper writing bearing date February 11th 1878 purporting to be the last will and testament of Elijah Griffith late of this County Died was this day fully proved by the oath of T. B.
