Will of John Hornbrook.

Will Book 2, pg. 61

I, John Hornbrook of Marshall County State of West Va. having the fear
of God before me Knowing the uncertainly of life and certainity of Death
so hereby make my last will and testament, in manner and form following
that is to say:

1st- after my decease I will that my just debts and funeral Expenses be paid.

2nd- I give and bequeath to my daughter Emily the interest on one thousand
dollars during her life, two cows, one Hog and all the furniture Except what
is in two rooms--the one I now occupy and the little bedroom up stairs, and
my bureau and all provisions that may be in the house, one set of silver
teaspoons, one woman's saddle, one gold watch that belonged to my Mother, one
worked picture in frame.  Understood by furniture to embrace beds and bedding.

3rd- I give and bequeath to my son William the two obligations or notes I hold
against him to be null and woid at my decease, he paying the interest on the
note called for two hundred Dollars to my daughter, Emily, and one half of my
clothes shall be given to William.

4th- I give and bequeath to my son Saunders one set of silver spoons (table)

5th- I will that my Executors shall pay for my son Edmond the last note when
it comes due on his farm, and that he shall have one half of my clothes.

6th- I give and bequeath to my son Thomas P all the furniture in the room I
now occupy and n the little bed room up stairs and my bureau, my likeness and
his mothers _____ pictures, the one half of my books. Furniture embrace bed
and bedding.

7th- I give and bequeath to my daughter Letitia two hundred Dollars to be paid
when my bond comes due but no interest and one picture called the "Virgin Way."

8th- I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah two Hundred Dollars and her Grand-
mothers likeness.

9th- I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary two Hundred Dollars and her mothers
wedding ring and the picture of Pittsburgh.

10th- I give and bequeath to my son Henry C my horse saddle and Saddle and bridle
and one half of my books.

11th- The above amounts bequeathed to each legatee except Emily shall not be paid
unless said legatees shall convey their interest in the Estate of Margaret P
Hornbrook Dec'd to my son Thomas R and Henry C and any of the aforementioned
legatees not complying thier legacies shall belong to Thomas P Hornbrook and
Henry C Hornbrook.

12th- I will that my wifes clothes shall be divided equally between my four daughters.

13th- I give and bequeath to my son John P and Theodore one hundred dollares each
to be paid after the rest of the legacies are settled and I give my son William my
spring wagon.

14th- And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my sons Thomas P and Henry C
Hornbrook Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other
wills or testaments by me made.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this 23rd day of April 1869.
