Will Bk I, Page 168 I Henry Parsons of Marshall county and State of Virginia do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say: 1st. I after my decease I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Hannah the household and kitchen furniture and one cow. I desire that the balance of my parishable property be sold after my decease and out of the money arising therefrom all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid the balance of the personal property be divided among four of my children equally, with the exception of my bay mare, which I give unto my son Jesse as his part of my personal property. The balance of my personal property I give unto my children Jehu, Joseph, Thomas and Elizabeth. 2nd I give and bequeath unto my wife Hannah all the profits arising from my real estate during her natural life and after her decease to be sold by my executor whom I will here after more fully name. 3dly And the money to be divided equally between my six children Jehu, Joseph, Jesse, Thomas, Elizabeth and my two grandchildren Samuel and Elizabeth Gats, to have a mothers part when they become of ages but to receive no interest which money is to remain in the hands of the other heirs. 4thly and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Jehu Parsons executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. Term 1853 The last Will and testament of Henry Parsons, decd was this day proved by the oaths of Nicholas Wykert and John F. V. Kelly two of the subscribing Witnesses thereto & is ordered to be recorded and on motion of Jehu Parsons the Executor therein named who made oath thereto and together with Nnicholas Wykert and Thomas Parsons his Security who qualified to their sufficiency entered into and acknow- ledged a Bond in the penalty of $1500 condition as the law directs.
