December 10, 1849
In the name of God Amen. I James C. Saunders of Marshall County State of West Virginia being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Saunders all my real Estate to have and to hold so long as she lives and I also give and bequeath to my said beloved wife Nancy all my personal Estate, after all my funeral expenses and all my past debts are paid to have and to hold forever and lastly after my beloved wife's decease I will and order all my real estate except the Grave Yard and I will order and reserve forever) to be sold and after all my wife's funeral expenses and all past debts are paid and all other necessary expenses the balance of the money I order to be equally divided among my children first to my daughter Savannah Miller and to my son Robert C. Sanders and my daughter Blanch P. St. Clair, and my son Thomas A. Sanders and my son James C. Sanders and to my son William W M Sanders, I order said legacies? and dividends to be made when all the money is collected and lastly I hereby appoint George Hubbs my Executor of this my last will and testament, thereby revoking all former wills by me made.
