Looking for the family of Catherine SPENCER, who married Alexander CLENDENEN in Greenbrier County, Va. I can't locate the parants of Cathrine or any of her brothers or sisters. There was a James SPENCER in the area, but I can't connect him to Cathrine. They had a child named Charles CLENDENEN. he was married and had a family. Looking for information on Elizabeth See the daughter of Frederick Michael See and Catherine Vanderpool. Elizabeth was taken by Chief Cornstock after the Muddy Creek Massare. Her father Frederick Michael See and her sister's Margaret husband Littleberry Roach were killed and the family was taken by the indians. Seeking the parents of both John LEWIS and Elizabeth (EDWARDS) Lewis. Both appear to be lifelong residents of Mason and Kanawha Counties. John LEWIS was b. 1807 and Elizabeth EDWARDS was b. in 1810. Census data indicates the two most probable parents for John are John Lewis Sr. or George Lewis Sr. The three possible parents of Elizabeth EDWARDS are Isaac EDWARDS, John EDWARDS, or possibly Arthur EDWARDS JR. Information on any of the families of the possible parents would be of value and would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the final resting place of my 4th gt. grand- grandfather Thomas Prows/Prowse. He was born October 3, 1759 in Portsmouth, N.H. Was a soldier with the 3rd N.H. Regt. He came to Western Virginia in 1807. He enlisted in the 19th Regt. of the U.S. Infantry, State of Ohio in 1812. He died at the home of his son Samuel, in Mason County, on July 12, 1828 and is buried in Area Cemetery, Mason Co. Does anyone have a clue as to where this area cemetery would be? I have additional biographical info for anyone who might be related.

Preston Cremeans (Cremeens/Cremenes)born between 1815-1820. In Mason County along with son Zan Otridge (Zanatridge) about 1880. There are quite a few Cremeans/Cremeens in Mason County, and from what I can gather, most/all should be Higgins Cremeans descendants. My problem: Who was Preston's father???? I think his father would have been a son of Higgins Cremeans but I have not been able to make that connection. Any help with Preston Cremeans, Zan Otridge (Oddridge) Cremeans, or Eli Washington Cremeans would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret OLDAKER born 1838 in Buffalo W.Va. married John BENNER b.1838 Ohio. They were married in 1878 in Mason county. I think thay both died in Buffalo close to one of the Adkinson farms early in the 1890s. I'm trying trying to find out who Margarets parents were. Was Oldaker her maden name or was she married before John B. and who do the 3 children in the 1880 census belong to. I have the Oldaker book but It doesn't list them. My grandmother was one of the children her name was Mary BENNER a she married Samuel TURNER in 1881. Her sister Minnie BENNER married Luter GLENN in the late 1880s. I don't know what happen ed to their other sister Jenny.

My maternal grand parents were Ruben Stone and Iantha Dunham. Ruben's parents were John Stone and Lucretia (unk) Stone. Inatha Dunham's parents were Jessie Dunham and Sarah Barr. Sarah Barr's parents were George W. Barr and Prudence (unk) Barr. George Barr's parents were a Mr. Barr (born in Ireland) and Mary (unk) Barr. My paternal grand parents were William Alexander King and Florence (unk) King. William Alexander King's parents were Alexander King and Elizabeth Jacobs. Alexander King's parents were John Senior King and Chritinia Yeager. Christina Yeager's father was Johann George Yeager. Johann George Yeager's parent's were Joseph Yeager (Germany 1739) and Catarina Elisabett Becker. +I have addition information on the Kings and the Yeagers, but I have no information on the Jacobs, Florence King's family, or the Beckers. In addition, I would like to have information on the Stones and the Barrs. Most of these families were around Union District of Mason County. I am both first cousin once removed and nephew by marriage to the late John Sayre who lived to be 102 1/2. I owe much of my information on the Kings and Yeagers to Glorene and Mark Stevens of Kent, Washinton. I currently reside in Greenbrier County, WV.

Parents Mark Elizabeth ILDERTON. Mark was one of the initial volunteers from Mason into the WV 4th Inf. Looking for any death info on Elizabeth ILDERTON born apprx. 1825-1828. The family was in Mason on the 1880 cenus. Mark reappears as a widower in Athens Co OH on the special 1890 Civil War Census.

Seek to share info on the family of Adam BRIGHT, 1792-1852, who died at Pt. Pleasant, Mason Co., WV. A soldier in the War of 1812, this Augusta Co., VA native m. Sarah HEADLEY in 1814. They appear in the 1850 census for Mason Co. as family #868. A son, Andrew BRIGHT, may be family #869, but my copy of the census is unreadable.

Seeking info on the MC GRADY family, especially parents for Elizabeth, Hester and Margaret MC GRADY (probably sisters) born c. 1800. They married in Mason Co (1820-1824) three brothers, Garrett, John and Thomas MC CALLISTER respectively. They had moved in from Augusta and Botetourt Cos VA. Garrett Mc CALLISTER in my direct line owned farm land in south Mason County. The 3 families moved to Madison Co IN about 1830. I would appreciate in any info on the MC GRADY side of the family.

I am looking for any information on the WEBB family. William Homer WEBB is my 2nd Great Grandfather. I know very little about him. Family tradition states he was a plantation owner in Petersburg, Virginia, he was a part of the under ground rail road and was murdered because of it, being bruied under a horse stall to hide the evidense. I have been unable to locate anything that remotely goes allong with this. Things I know about this family are: 1. He married Isabella KARR/CARR bef. 1854, and they had at least three children: A. Mary Clementine WEBB b. 9 May 1854, m. Thaddeus S. ROMINE 3 Feb 1872 in Meigs County, Ohio B. Nancy A. WEBB b. abt. 1858. C. John A. WEBB b. abt. 1860. 2. In the 1870 federal census report for Rugland Twp., Meigs County, Ohio, there is found Isabelle WEBB living in the household of James Karr. The three above mentioned children are living with her there, but no mention of William Homer WEBB. 3. Mary Clementine WEBB married Thaddeus ROMINE 3 Feb 1872 in Harrisonville, Meigs County, Ohio. They are my Great Grandparents. 4. Isabella WEBB is reported to be living with Mary A. Carr, presumed to be her mother, in the 1880 federal census. She has Nancy A. WEBB and John A. WEBB living with her. 5. Also in the 1880 federal census Mary Clementine WEBB is reported as the wife of Thaddeus S. ROMINE. 6. In the 1860 federal census for Kanawha County, West Virginia, there is a William H. WEBB listed in household 381. Could this be the one I am looking for? Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Amy marriage certificates, death certificates, or anything else would be of help. Thank you very much.

Seeking information on the family of William Martin who married Margaret "Maggie" Smith. They both died in the early 1920's. Their daughter, Ruby Marie Martin, married my grandfather, Thomas Richardson Oldaker. William Martin is the son of Woodson Martin. These families lived in both Mason and Putnam Counties from circa 1844 until now. William Martin and wife, Maggie, are buried at Walker Chapel Church in Putnam County.
