Sarah Francis Barr Dunham was born May 4th, 1851, departed this
life December 16, 1933, aged 82 years, 7, months, 13 days. She
was the daughter of John William "Henry" and Mary Martha
Rayburn Barr.
She was untied in marriage with Jesse B. Dunham December 27th,
1870, and he preceeded her in death some 23 years ago. He was
born in Fayette County, Pa. His parents were Allen Alexander and
Katherine Crow Dunham. To this union were born 9 children, seven
of whom survive as follows:
Hon. Alexander Leckie Crow Dunham of Leon; Mrs. Mary "Molly"
E. Hill of Rockcastle, Mrs. Iantha Stone residing at the Stone
Farm; Mrs. Iona Sayre, of Denby, Ohio; George E. Dunham, of Masonville,
Iowa; Mrs. Melinda Lewis of Columbus, Ohio; Carl Dunham of Leon.
Two of her children, John Allen Dunham and Jesse B. Dunham Jr.,
proceeded her in death.
Mrs. Dunham leaves to more their loss, besides the seven children,
26 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 43; three half sisters,
Mrs. Sophia Sayre, of Cottageville; Mrs. Jane Casto of Little
Chapel, Ohio, Mrs. Eilzina Miller, of Evans; as well as a host
of other relatives and friends.
She joined the Rockcastle Church some 50 years ago and ever afterward
kept the faith. She bore her sufferings with patience. She will
be missed by all who knew her.
"Call not back the dear departed,
Anchored safe where storms are o're."
The funeral was held December 18th, 1933 at the Spruce School
House, the Rev. J.H. Wallis of Pliney, officiating and interment
was made in the Spruce Cemetery.

Mrs. Harriet M. Rhoades - Services for Harriet M. Rhoades, 66
years old, who died last Sunday at the home of a son, Walter Rhoades,
at North Point Pleasant, were held Tuesday at the residence.
Burial was in the family cemetery at Redmond.
Mrs. Rhoades is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Arthur Austin
and Mrs. John Casey, of Henderson; Mrs. Harry Fierbaugh, of Point
Pleasant; Mrs. Jerry McAuliffe, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. W. L.
French and Mrs. A.
E. Bishop, of Charleston; one stepdaughter, Mrs. John Fisher,
of Chesapeake, O.; and two stepsons, Will Rhoades, of Point Pleasant,
and George Rhoades, Jr. of Henderson.
