Alice Margaret King Stover Kent, daughter of Ephraim and Susan
Hughes King, was born May 26, 1874, departed this life December
7, 1956, aged 82 years, 6 months, 12 days. She was united in marriage
to Henry Harrison Stover March 10, 1895. To this union were born
4 daughters. Her husband and one daughter proceeded her in death..
She was united in marriage with Oliver D. Kent November 21, 1932.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband, O. D. Kent; 3 daughters,
Mrs. Lula Edna Beattie of Charleston, Mrs. Susan Jane Hazelett
of Charleston, Mrs. Laura May Shinn of Freeport, Ohio; two sisters.
Mrs. Lila Belle Cossin, Mrs. Orilla May "Bert" Stover.
One Brother. Jasper King of Saint Albans; 16 grandchildren; 50
great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ella
Florence King, Matilda King, Mrs. Mary E. Rowan, Mrs. Bertha Kapp,
Mrs. Flora Jane Donohue, John T. King, George King.
She was converted and baptized at an early age. She lived a devoted
and faithful life. She was always thinking of others, as long
as her health permitted, she would go and help others. Many times
she would cook meals and carry to the sick.
She suffered a stroke nine weeks ago, and bore her sickness as
only a kind loving and considerate mother could.
Funeral services were conducted at the Creston E. U. B. Church,
with the rev. Dallas Buck officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald
Pringle and the Rev. Thomas Farren. Burial was in the Ephraim
King Cemetery near the Jackson County Line. The Casto Funeral
Home was in charge.
