Richard F Gardner, 49, Rt. 2, Leon, died Wednesday morning in
Pleasant Valley Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1928, in Mason County, to Mrs. Fay Daugherty
Gardner, Point Pleasant, Rt. 2, and the late Frank Gardner. He
was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Gardner on June 22,
1970.
He was a welder with Union Boiler Co., Nitro, a veteran of Korean
War and a member of the Mason County Post 23, American Legion
and VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Frances O'Neil Gardner; one son, Richard
(Dickie) Gardner, Huntington; sister, Mrs. Betty Fowler, Point
Pleasant; one brother, Johnnie Gardner, Point Pleasant.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 1 pm at the Crow-Hussell
Funeral Home with the Rev. Tally Hanna officiating. Burial will
follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 pm today.

Buffalo Man Dies After Short Illness
Haskell D Garrison, 56, Rt. 1, Buffalo, died Monday in Pleasant
Valley Hospital after a short illness.
He was a farmer and a disabled World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, one daughter, Mrs. Dottie
Lou Warren, Clearwater, Fla.; four sons, Dwane, Redhouse; Carl,
Racine, O.; Michael and Larry both of Buffalo; three sisters,
Mrs. Opal Fumea, Columbus; Mrs. Dortha Curatti, Mansfield, O.;
and Mrs Norma Jividen, Grimms Landing; three brothers, Pearl,
New Orleans; Waldo, Ecorse, Mich. And Charles, Columbus; seven
grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, after 7
pm today.

Mrs. Inez Marie Camden Gleason, 78, Westerville, O. formerly of
Point Pleasant, died Tuesday evening after a long illness at the
Westerville Convalescent Center.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1899 in Point Pleasant, to the late Robert
and Clara Brown Camden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel (Jacob) Gleason
in 1964, along with one sister and brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Manford (Evelyn) Bauer,
Point Pleasant and Mrs. Otis (Sylvia) Jordan, Westerville; three
sisters, Mrs. Virginia Blankenship, Miss Pauline Camden and Mrs.
Violet Farley all of Point Pleasant; three brothers, Joe Camden,
Bidwell; James Camden, Williamstown, W.Va.; Frank Camden, Columbus.
Funeral services will be held Friday 1:30 pm in the First Church
of the Nazarene with the Rev. Ray Whiteman officiating. Burial
will be in Suncrest Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church
one hour prior to services.
Friends may call at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home today from 2 to
4 and from 7 to 9 pm.

Roy E Greenlee, 94, Leon, died Friday in Pleasant Valley Hospital
after a short illness.
A life-long resident of Mason County, he was a member of the Leon
Baptist Church and retired from the New York Central Railroad.
He was preceded in death by one son, Arthur and one daughter,
Mrs. Grace Newton, also one sister and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Lola Woodall Greenlee; one daughter,
Mrs. Leslie Jeansen, Lake Isabelle, Calif.; two sons, Kenneth
Greenlee, Columbus and Roy Greenlee Jr., St Louis, Missouri; one
sister, Miss Rosa Greenlee, Charleston; four brothers, Frank,
Jesse and Verner all of Charleston, Jake and Omer Greenlee both
of Florida; also 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, where arrangements
will be announced

Lee Vitus Henry, 74, Gallipolis Ferry, died this morning at 6:45
at his home after a short illness.
Born March 21, 1904 in Mason County, son of the late George Calvin
Henry and Alta Mae Persinger Henry.
He attended the Jordan Baptist Church and was a retired foreman
on the B & O Railroad after 42 years of service.
His wife, avis Maxine Hatfield Henry, preceded him in death on
Feb. 5, 1968.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Linda Darlene Henry Haley, Gallipolis,
O.; four sons, Bobby Lee, William Wayne (Bill) and Ronnie Ray,
all of Gallipolis Ferry, and Roy Lewis of Point Pleasant; one
brother, John A., Apple Grove; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, five brothers and one
granddaughter.
Services will be held Monday at 2 pm at the Jordan Baptist Church
at Gallipolis Ferry by the Rev. Odell Bush and the Rev. William
(Bud) Hatfield. Burial will be in Beale Cemetery at Apple Grove.
The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
Friends may call at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home after 1 pm Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society
are requested.

Charles O Hesson, 56, Glenwood, Rt. 1, died Saturday in the Presbyterian
Manor Nursing Home, Huntington.
He was born Feb. 25, 1921, Cabell County, to the late Joseph James
and Cora Brannen Hesson.
He was a repairman for Acme Machine Shop of Huntington, and a
veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Bailey Hesson; one son, Max
Hesson, Glenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Justie Oldaker, Lesage, and
Mrs. Eloise Dennison, Zion, Ill.; three brothers, Roscoe Hesson,
Huntington, James Hesson, Melissa, and L. Junior Hesson, Barboursville.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 1 pm at the Chapman
Mortuary, Huntington, with the Rev. Terry A Jordan officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery.

of Point Pleasant, will be held Monday, 2:30 pm at the Suncrest

Mrs. Hill died Thursday at the home of her niece Mrs. Amy Meehan
of Bellevue, also formerly of Point Pleasant.
She is survived by another niece Mrs. Goldie Kuyat of Zelienople,
Pa.; grandchildren Linford Earl Eastep and Mrs. Nedra Lee West
of Poquosson, Va.
She was preceded in death by a son Linford Eastep.

He was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a member
of the Bruce Chapel Episcopal Church and a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include one son, William (Billy) Hughes, Columbus; one
sister, Susie Hughes Withers, Gallipolis Ferry and two grandchildren.

Arthur O Knapp, 89, 392 Hanes Road, St. Petersburg, Fla., died
Sunday afternoon at the Appolio Medical Center in St. Petersburg,
after a long illness.
He was born June 6, 1887, Mason County, to the late William R
S Knapp and G A Deweese Knapp. He was a former resident of Charleston
and a retired wholesale grocery salesman.
He was a member of the Mirror Lake Christian Church in St. Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona W Knapp in 1971.
Survivors include three sons, Charles O and Arthur E Knapp both
of Charleston and George H Knapp, St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11 am in the Wilcoxen Funeral
Home with the Rev. Mr. Andrew Jones officiating. Burial will be

Charles Lawson, 69, Winter Haven, Fla., died unexpectedly Thursday
in Milwaukee, Wis. while visiting friends. He is the brother of
Mrs. Howard L Yeager Sr., Point Pleasant.
He was born March 17, 1909 in Elkins, W.Va., to the late Henry
Thomas and Emma Catherine Wilmoth Lawson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John G Lawson, William
B Lawson and Edgar C Lawson.
Survivors include his wife, Tessie Lawson; four brothers, J Brooks
Lawson, Williamson; Joseph Wilmoth Lawson, Bristol, Tenn.; David
G Lawson, Hot Springs, Calif.; Perry Thomas Lawson, Woodlands,
Australia. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Yeager is another sister,
Emma Ethel Davenport, Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Monday in Milwaukee.

Sharon Lynn Long, 22, Henderson, died Tuesday morning of injuries
from a fall at Holzer Medical Center.
She was a graduate of Wahama High School.
She was born on May 1, 1956, Mason, to Oatho L and Florida Anderson
Casto of Mason.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Richard
A Long; one sister, Mrs. Patsy Oiler, Middleport; three brothers,
Charles Casto, Mason; Ronnie Casto, Pomeroy; and Bobby with the
US Army in Germany; a grandmother, Leola Miller, Mason.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the
Crow-Hussell Funeral Home.
