Geneva Marie Gibbs, 60, Hartford, died Wednesday (25 Aug 1982) in the Holzer Medical Center Hospital.
Born Feb 20, 1922 in Hartford to the late James Ellis Roush and Bertha Hoffman Hall, who survives in Point Pleasant.
Other survivors are her husband, Clyde W Gibbs of Hartford; three brothers, William P Roush and James R Roush, both of Hartford and Russell H Roush of Clifton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Foglesong Funeral Home in Mason with the Rev Rex Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 pm until 4 pm and 7 pm until 9 pm.

Born Nov. 7, 1887, in Leon, she was the daughter of the late Charles W and Anna Peaters Rollins.
She was a member of the Harvey Chapel Church, Leon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Gibeaut.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Sylvia Gibeaut, Point Pleasant, and Mrs Hobart Fridley, Ripley; a step-daughter, Mrs Ina Know, Watertown, Ohio; two sons, Rodney Gibeaut, Lakin, and Henry Gibeaut, Bidwell, Ohio; three brothers, Cleve Rollins, Portsmouth, Ohio, Harvey Rollins, Rising Sun, Ohio, and Eunice Rollins, Leon; 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday in the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with the Rev Herman Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery.

Mrs Maude H Gillam, 83, 2510 Lincoln Ave., died yesterday at 3:42 pm at Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Born Aug 29, 1898 in Olive Hill, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ida Owens Henderson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C Gillam, who died on April 1.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs Jacqueline Bowling, Point Pleasant and Mrs Sue Ellixson, Orlando, Fla. four sons, Joe and Grady Gillam, Detroit, Mich., Carlton Gillam, Dayton, Ohio and Fred Gillam, Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at the First Church of Nazarene in Point Pleasant with Rev William Bridges officiating. Burial will be held at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens.

Oscar B Gillam, 80, 2510 Lincoln Ave., Point Pleasant, was dead on arrival last night at Pleasant Valley Hospital.
He was retired from Gay Coal and Coke of Mt Gay and was a member of the United Mine Workers in Charleston.
He was born Sept 5, 1901 in Layton, Ky. to the late John and Rhoda Cole Gillam.
Surviving are his wife, Maud Henderson Gillam, two daughters, Mrs Jacqueline Bowling, Point Pleasant and Mrs Sue Ellixson, Orlando, Fla.; four sons, Joe and Gradie Gillam, Detroit, Mich., Carlton Gillam, Dayton, Ohio and Fred Gillam, Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Warnie Gillam, Westwood, Ky.; one sister, Ann Maggard, Cynthia, Ky.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James M Gray, II, 50, 2312 Jefferson Ave., Point Pleasant, was found dead at his home yesterday evening where Mason County Coroner, Dr John M Grubb, estimated the time he had been dead 18 to 20 hours. The cause of death was natural causes.
He was born Nov 26, 1931, at Charleston, W.Va. and was a son of the late James M Gray and Margaret Frazier Gray.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and also an honorary member of the American Legion Post 23, Point Pleasant. He was retired off the river from the Union-Mechling Corporation as a marine engineer at Pittsburgh, Pa.
He is survived by three sons, James M Gray, III, Huntington, Thomas F Gray, St Albans and Robert M Gray, Bidwell, Ohio; one grandson, James M Gray, IV, New Haven and one granddaughter, Chastity D Gray of Bidwell, Ohio; one brother, John F Bray, Gallipolis, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with the Rev Tally Hanna officiating. Burial will be in the Beale Chapel Cemetery at Apple Grove.

Miss Lillian Greenlee, 88, of Rt.3, Tribble Road, Mason County, died Thursday (11 Mar 1982) in the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was a member of the Leon Baptist Church, member of the Buffalo Chapter OES No 150 and a retired clerk from the GL Hubert Store in Buffalo.
Surviving are one nephew, whom she made her home with, George E Greenlee, of Westerville, Ohio; and three nieces, Eva Lynn Greenlee, Katherine Mae Greenlee and Jeannine Rose Greenlee, all of Westerville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Leon Baptist Church with the Rev Leonard I Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Leon Cemetery.

William Howard Grimm, 70, Letart, died Saturday afternoon at home following a long illness.
Born Sept 2, 1911, Letart, he was the son of the late James Franklin and Cora Mae Snyder Grimm.
He was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church, a coal miner and farmer.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Stanley Grimm, who died in 1976.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Battaglia, Cleveland, Ohio; five brothers, Ernest, Oscar, Francis and Ernie Grimm, Letart and Okey Grimm, Phoenix, Az.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home at 1:30 pm Rev Bobby L Woods will officiate and burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Letart. Friends may call the funeral home after 5 pm today.

Born Aug 20, 1897, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Annie Primm Henry.
She was a member of the Sunrise United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Brian Gwinn and one son, Bryan Henry Gwinn.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

James J Hall, 72, 2009 Mt Vernon Ave, Point Pleasant, died Thursday morning in Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Born Sept 11, 1910, in Kinde, Mich, he was the son of the late Ernest G and Emma Kinde Hall.
He was a retired pharmacist and owned and operated Hall's Drug Store in Point Pleasant for 27 years.
He was chairman of the board of directors of the Point Pleasant Savings and Loan at the time of his death, a trustee at Pleasant Valley Hospital and a member of American Pharmaceutical Association. He served in the US Navy in World War II, was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 23, Loyal Order of Moose, Point Pleasant Kiwanis Club and the IOOF Lodge 33, Point Pleasant.
A graduate of the Detroit School of Pharmacy in 1933, he worked in Buckhannon for four years before coming to Point Pleasant in 1937.
He is survived by his wife, Rohda Windon Hall; a daughter, Mrs Natalie Jane Feola, Williamstown; a son, Terry Windon Hall, Beckley; two sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Genevieve) Larzelere, Ann Arbor, Mich and Mrs Howard (Natalie) Sherman, Sun City Center, Fla; a brother, Gerald R Hall, ________, Fla; six grandchildren, two nephews and three nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday in the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with the Rev Malcolm C McIver III officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.

He was born March 29, 1913, in Birmingham, Ohio. He is the son of the late Edward and Eliza Carlton Haning. He was also preceded in death by his wife Hazel M Haning, two children, two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are Cora M Fry, a friend, of Letart; two sons, Charles E Haning, Fostoria, Ohio and Harley H Haning. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Henderson.
Her husband, John Harmon, preceded her in death June 28, 1963.

He was born August 15, 1914, Tangier, Va., to the late Louis and Sarah Crockett Harms.
He was stockman for the A P Parts Corporation, in Toledo, Ohio. He was also a World War II Veteran serving in the US Army and was a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Lillian J Edwards Harms.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Foglesong Funeral Home in Mason with the Rev Kenneth Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lone Oak Cemetery.

Mary Hayes, 81, 711 Viand St, Point Pleasant, passed away at Pleasant Valley Hospital Friday evening after a long illness.
Born Aug 25, 1900 in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Simeon and Marya Mozurak. Her parents emigrated from Czarist, Russia in the 1880s.
The deceased and her late husband, W Harold Hayes, came to Point Pleasant in 1932 and established Haynes Jewelers, Main Street, Point Pleasant.
Two sons, William Norman and Robert James, preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Point Pleasant and active in the family business until five years ago.
Surviving are one one (sic) daughter, Mrs Edwin (Martha) Batchelor, Point Pleasant; one son, Dr Harold M Hayes, Forest Grove, Oregon; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev Malcolm C McIver officiating.

Asa U Henry, 81, Gallipolis Ferry, died yesterday evening at Holzer Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Sept 1, 1900 in Hogsett to the late Agusta Henry and Mary Bright Henry.
He was a deacon and elder of Jordan Baptist Church, Gallipolis Ferry and was a member since 1925. He taught a boy's Sunday School class and was Sunday School superintendent for eight years. He was also a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Evelyn Putney Henry, Gallipolis Ferry; seven daughters, Virginia Pyles, Mahala Jones, Margaret Yester, Ann Fisher and Geraldine Adams, all of Gallipolis Ferry, Yvonne Short, Glouster, Ohio and Maxine Johnson, Shell Lake, Wis.; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Jordan Baptist Chu8rch. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. Revs Charles Moses and Charles "Tommy" Kinnaird will officiate. Burial will be held at the Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove.

Born May 10, 1909, in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Ruben and Lorena Rose.
She was employeed at the Colony Theater for several years and at the Tabor Newspaper Stand.
She married Chester Hill on July 3, 1926 who survives. Also surviving are three sons, George, of Pensacola, Jack, of Louisiana, and Ruben of Gallipolis; a daughter, Mrs Cecil (Mary) Roach, Point Pleasant; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a sister and brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday at the Miller's Home for Funerals with the Rev Bryan Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Stewart Hill; three daughters, Mrs Merlin Hartley, Point Pleasant, Mrs Mildred Jividen, Rt.1, Gallipolis, Ohio, and Mrs Dottie Riffle, Leon; a son, Donnie Hill, Leon; two sisters, Mrs Ora Brewer, Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs Mary Spencer, Columbus, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II, a retired engineer, mechanic, and boat worker.

Born May 25, 1893, in Topmost, Ky., to the late Linsey and Flora Cook Wireman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Hopkins in 1969 and a son, Charles Maynard.
Surviving are one daughter, Dixie M Blevins, New Haven; one daughter-in-law, Mrs Maynard Hopkins, Waverly, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Foglesong Funeral Home in Mason on Friday at 9:30 am with the Rev. Cass Hutchison officiating. Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 pm until 9 pm.
The body will then be taken to the Ballard Hopkins residence in Estill, Ky., Friday evening by the Hindman Funeral Home in Hindman, Ky.
Funeral services will also be conducted at 11 am Saturday morning at the Baptist Providence Church at Topmost, Ky. With the Rev. Bert Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Born March 16, 1903, at Henderson, she was the daughter of the late Charles F and Sally Casey Gibson.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Buffalo, NY.
Her Husband was the late James K Horton, who died May 18, 1972. She was also preceded in death by three children, Juanita Whitlock, Jacqueline Whitlock and Billy Gibson Whitlock.
Surviving are a brother, Robert J Gibson, Belle, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

A native of Point Pleasant and a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, she was a teacher in Mason County schools and was active in musical circles in both Point Pleasant and Mr Hope.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J Ed Howard, formerly chief engineer of New River Coal Company, and a son, William C Howard, captain, Trans World Airlines.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Lilly; a daughter-in-law, Mary Garrett Howard; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs Cary Howard Rayburn, 1106 Viand St, Point Pleasant.

Stanley N Johnson Jr., 59, 904 Three Rivers North, Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Monday in the University of Cincinnati General Hospital.
Born June 15, 1923, in Point Pleasant, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Mullins Johnson.
He had been employed by American Electric Power since July, 1947 and worked for the Appalachian Electric Company in Point Pleasant prior to transferring in July, 1955, to the Indiana-Michigan Electric Company in Fort Wayne where he was office manager in the accounting department.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant, a founder and past officer of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Point Pleasant, a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and attended Rio Grande College.
In Fort Wayne, he was a past officer of the Lions International, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Wayne 100 Percent Club and the Summit Club.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J Williams Johnson; a daughter, Mrs Jane Quandt, Fort Wayne; a son, Stan Johnson, Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, William M, Chicago, Ill., and James E, St Augustine, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend graveside services in Lone Oak Cemetery, Point Pleasant, at 2 pm Saturday with the Rev Tally Hanna officiating.
Arrangements locally are under the direction of the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.

He was born Jan. 14, 1901, in Mason County, to Thomas Jones and Geneva Gardner Jones, who preceded him in death.
Jones, who attended the Crook's Chapel Church, had resided in Gallia County for more than forty years. He was an employee of the Gallipolis State Institute and retired in 1966.
He married Leona Hayman on May 14, 1920, in Gallipolis. She preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1978.
Surviving are his children, Mrs John (Laura) Ferguson, South Point, Ohio; Mrs Fred (Katie) McKown, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs David (Barbara) North, Gallipolis, Ohio; Robert Jones, South Point, Ohio; Stanley Jones, Gallipolis, Ohio; John Jones, South Point, Ohio; and his brother, Pearl Jones, Point Pleasant.
One son James preceded him in death.
He had 32 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Born July 1919 in The Plains, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Iona Takach Kovalchik.
He worked as a carpenter and was veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army.

Born Aug 5, 1895, Good Hope, Ohio, he was the son of the late Valentine and Luella Stutler Krebs.
He was a retired carpenter and worked several years for Marietta Manufacturing Co.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Martha Ellen Young Krebs, who died Nov 28, 1979 and two sons, Clifford and Harry Krebs.

Wrenna E Laudermilt, 85, New Haven, died Saturday in Holzer Medical Center.
Born March 20, 1896, at New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Sherman T and Lora Ann Roush McDermitt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Everett C Laudermilt, who died in 1972, and a brother, Sherman M McDermitt.
A member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, she was converted Feb 22, 1912, and joined the New Haven United Brethern Church in March, 1912. She also belonged to the Live Wire Bible Class and the Rhododendron Homemakers Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Laudermilt, New Haven, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday in the New Haven United Methodist Church with the Rev John Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

Mrs Anna Bratton Lewis, 91, Point Pleasant, widow of Charles Cameron Lewis, died Sunday evening.
Born Nov 3, 1890, in Bath County, Va., she was a daughter of John Mitchell and Mary Grove Bratton. Mrs Lewis took nurses training at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. graduating in the Spring of 1918. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Point Pleasant. Her husband, who died in May, 1964, was one of the organizers of the Citizens National Bank of Point Pleasant. He was president or chairman of the board of the bank from 1929 to 1964.
Mrs Lewis is survived by her daughter, Annette Lewis Seidel, and by Margaret Lynn Lewis, Virginia Lewis Harper, and Charles C Lewis Jr.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One great-grandson, Andrew Seidel, son of John Lewis and Robin Seidel, was born the day his great-grandmother died.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the family residence at Oldtown Farm. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery.

She was born April 6, 1906, at Beech Hill, Mason County, to the late Frank Halstead and Berth Burns Halstead.
She was a member of the Faith Gospel Church, Gallipolis Ferry.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Lewis, Gallipolis Ferry; four daughters, Mrs Pansey Curtis, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs Patricia Thomas, Washington Courthouse, Ohio, Mrs Jessie Thomas, Plain City, Ohio and Mrs Janet Blankenship, Gallipolis Ferry; two step-daughters, Mrs Glendel Stevens, Gallipolis Ferry and Mrs Ruth Flowers, Point Pleasant; one son, Harvey Lewis, Gallipolis Ferry; one brother, Ronald Halstead, Southside; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Lewis.

She was also preceded in death by her husband David Liggins, in 1968.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Jean Raglan, Cincinnati, Mrs Dorothy Thompson, Mrs Ella…and five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Norma Craig, Point Pleasant, Mrs Hattie Bordan, Gallipolis, and Mrs Annabelle Fluellen, Columbus, Ohio.
A brother and sister also preceded her in death.

He was a retired employee of the Mason Aggregate Company and attended the Concord Baptist Church. He was also a former employee of the Rich Valley Dairy, the Valley Bell Dairy and the Marietta Manufacturing Company.

He was a veteran of World War II and a construction worker.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife, Nancy Lou Long, Beverly, Ohio, and six children, Terri Long Sergent, Mark, Rich, Chris, Jerry and David, all of Beverly, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl, in 1961.

Born March 17, 1891 in Point Pleasant, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Margaret Schools Lewis.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka and a member of the Col Charles Lewis Chapter of the NSDAR of Point Pleasant.
She has lived in Mishawaka for the past 15 years, having moved there from Springfield, Missouri.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S Lunsford on August 23, 1974.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Betty Semenak, Mishawaka and Mrs Anne Digman, Hawthorn, California; one son, John W Lunsford, Alliance, Ohio; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday in the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with the Rev Malcolm C McIver III officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
