He was a former employee of CSX Railway and a Navy veteran.

LETART-Lester Arnold "Cap" Adkins, 91, of Letart died March 3, 2000, in Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant.
He was a self-employed farmer, member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Letart, charter member of Mason County Farm Museum, served as fire marshal for the West Virginia Forestry Department, and was an adviser for the US Department of Agriculture.
Surviving: wife, Nellie Mabel Adkins; nieces, Nora Mae Hoffman of Glen Burnie, Md., Mildred Edwards of Azusa, Calif.; nephew, Loyn Pickens of Letart.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Mayes and the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Letart. He was a former Street Commissioner for the City of Point Pleasant; an employee of Marietta Manufacturing Co., a city mail carrier and dairy farmer; a member of Krebs Chapel United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant; and a 1923 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and the Tri-state Engineering College in Angola, Ind.
Born Sept 15,1905 in Flat Rock. He was a son of the late Rev. Lee Anderson and Theodosia Catherine (Pickens) Cottrill
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Enid Somerville; a daughter, Barbara Eileen Harris; a sister Vurl Randolph; and a brother Clarence C. Cottrill.
Surviving are his wife, Olive F.
