Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va. -- John F. Adams, 72, of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., died Monday, April 11, 2005, at his home.
He was a deck hand for the Ohio River Company. He also was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and a member of the United States Navy.
He was born June 29, 1932 in Berea, Ohio, the son of the late Howard C. and Virginia (Borsell) Adams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Adams; and two special cousins, Marcelne Wilson and Joan Bogdanski.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Macil Adams of Gallipolis Ferry; a son, John A. Adams of Gallipolis Ferry; a daughter, Marie Adams of Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor George Toppings officiating. Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the funeral home.

Hazen L. Ayres, 82, of Belle, W.Va., died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at the home of his niece, Betty Lynch of Point Pleasant, W.Va.
Hazen was a life-long resident of Belle. He graduated from Marshall University in 1956, and was a school teacher for Kanawha County Schools. He taught chemistry, math, physics, and science and retired after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army and served in World War II.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Mellin, W.Va., the son of the late Alva and Mary (Hoover) Ayres.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Flora Lynette Lowe.
In addition to his niece Betty Lynch, he is survived by a great-niece, Beckey Browning of Point Pleasant; a great-nephew, Mark Lynch of Point Pleasant; three great-great-nieces, Abby Browning of Sacramento, Calif., Amy Lynch of Huntington, W.Va., and Alice Browning of Orlando, Fla.; and one great-great-nephew, Nicholas Lynch of Point Pleasant.
There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Deal Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.

Grace Z. Balch, 83, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., went to be with the Lord at her home, February 1, 2005, following a short Illness. She was a life long resident of Mason County, W.Va. She loved her home and her dog Jo Jo. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School, and was the office manager at B&Q Machine & Repair, a family owned business, and worked there daily from 1969 until 1989. During her retirement, she was a homemaker until her last days on this earth. She was a lifelong member of the Morning Star Advent Christian Church of Point Pleasant. Born March 29, 1921, in Mason County, she was the daughter of the late Byron Greenlee Sr. and Ada Brown Greenlee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Balch; a sister, Emogene Selby; and a brother-in-law, James Selby. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Josephine C. Balch of Livermore, Calif., and Michael D. Balch of Point Pleasant, who lived and cared for his mother until the end. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Leslie Lynn Balch of Wilmington, N.C., and Jennifer Jean (Samuel) Newell of Leon, W.Va.; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Newell and one great-grandson, Nicholas Tyler Newell, both of Leon; a brother and sister-in-law, Byron Jr. and Margaret Greenlee of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Rick DeQuasie officiating. Evans, W.Va. -- Chad Leroy Baxa, 22, of Evans, in Mason County, departed this life April 18, 2005, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1982 in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Brenda R. Baxa of Columbus. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Nicole Raye Baxa of Columbus.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Verlin Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Leon. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lisa G. (Durbin) Black, 47, of Henderson, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at her home.
Lisa was a former cook at the Holiday Inn, Gallipolis, Ohio, and a homemaker. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School.
She was born Sept. 18, 1957, in Mason County, W.Va., the daughter of James Durbin of Ravenswood, W.Va., and the late Anna Lee (Moody) Durbin.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mable and Griff Durbin, and Howard and Kathleen Moody; a nephew, Steven Durbin; and an uncle, Bill Moody.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband Raymond Black of Henderson; sons Joey (Erica) Black of Apple Grove, W.Va., and Jason (Miranda) Black, Raymond (Sandy) Black, and Randy (Beth) Black, all of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.; daughters Lee Ann (Keith) Cook of Southside, W.Va., and Melissa (Scott) Fetty of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are brothers Steve (Patti) Durbin of Point Pleasant, and Donnie (Lori) Durbin of Evans, W.Va.; and sisters Betty (Dan) Davies of Patriot, Ohio, Brenda (Allen) Weekley of Evans, Kim (Glen) Marcum of Point Pleasant, Kathleen (James) Heart of Leon, W.Va., and Virginia (Greg) Watson of Point Pleasant.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Dan Pelfrey and Bob Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Greer Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the funeral home.

Dorist "Jake" Franklin Bonecutter Sr., 80, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant.
He worked as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Point Pleasant. He was a World War II Army veteran, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 731 of Point Pleasant and of the American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant.
He was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Point Pleasant, the son of the late Glen Justin and Ruth Virginia (Gaskins) Bonecutter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Will.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Bonecutter of Point Pleasant; two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and James Fetty and Vesta Bonecutter, all of Point Pleasant; one son, Frank Bonecutter Jr., of Point Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Kenny) Fetty Toops, Scott (Missy) Fetty, Gaila (Dave) Wallace, Jimmy Fetty, Amy Fetty, Carma Wallace, Dorist Franklin Bonecutter III and Kelli Jo Schultz; fourteen great-grandchildren, Jamie McCormick, Emilee McCormick, Kala Fetty, Scott Fetty II, Chelsea Fetty, Cassie Wallace, David Wallace, Levi Meeks, Dustin Wamsley, Hannah Wamsley, Frankie Bonecutter IV, Amber Bonecutter, Tad Bonecutter and Robbie Bonecutter; and one great-great-grandchild, Ariel Bonecutter; a brother, Ted Bonecutter Sr. of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews, Terry Bonecutter, Brent Bonecutter, Chris Bonecutter, Kevin Bonecutter, Shelly Bonecutter and Jimmy Will.

James "Jim" Lloyd Boshell, 74, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died at his home Wednesday evening, Feb. 16, 2005.
He was a retired ironworker and a member of the Ironworkers Local No. 787 in Parkersburg, W.Va. He was a member of Heights United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, a 1948 graduate of Oceana High School in Oceana, W.Va., and a member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Amateur Radio Club with call letters "WB8YQQ."
He was born July 20, 1930, in Carbon Hill, Ala., the son of the late Walter and Ruth (Tirey) Boshell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Harry Boshell; and a niece, Cathy Boshell.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marsha "Dee" (Daugherty) Boshell; three sisters-in-law, Donna Pauley of Henderson, W.Va., Geraldine Boshell of Cedar Bluff, Va., and Mary Boshell of Florida; four nephews, Brant Pauley of Henderson, Mark Boshell of Orlando, Fla., Mike (Linda) Boshell of Ceredo, W.Va., and Willis Jay Boshell of Cedar Bluff; and a niece, Bridgett Boshell of Florida.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with the Rev. Bobby Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the funeral home.

Wheatridge, Colo.-- V. Duard Boswell, 86, of Wheatridge, Colo., died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at the Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada, Colo.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Rocky Flats-Dow Chemical in Arvada. He was a 1937 class graduate of Point Pleasant High School, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Wheatridge Lutheran Church and formerly a member of Leon Baptist Church in Leon, W.Va.
He was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Leon, the son of the late William G. and Rosa (Carney) Boswell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Harvey, Naomi Gainer and Odessa Boswell; and three brothers, Elmer, Howard and Charles Boswell.
He is survived by his wife, Esther (Trelenberg) Boswell; a step-daughter, Betty (Robert) Thomas of Larkspur, Colo.; a step-son, David (Jeri) Moeller of Seattle, Wash.; a sister and brother-in-law, Luella and Warren Keefer of Leon; five grandsons; one step-granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Leon Cemetery in Leon, with the Rev. Basil Hudson officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Wheatridge Lutheran Church.

Lucille Brown, 83, of Springhouse Estates, Lower Gwynedd, Pa., formerly of Jenkintown, Pa., died Jan. 4, 2005, at her residence.
Born Lennia Lucille Krautter in Mason, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Richard Krautter and Clara (nee Hall) Krautter.
She was a homemaker and mother, and was very active with her church family. She was a Red Cross volunteer for many years. She graduated from Wahama High School, Mason.
Lucille was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a generous friend to anyone who needed help, and a survivor in the face of difficult times. She is much loved and will be missed by all of her friends and family.
In addition to her husband Max Brown, she was preceded in death by her son David Brown.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Becky Brown and Jordan Moonitz of Spokane, Wash.; a grandson, Jarrott Moonitz of Spokane; sister and brother-in-law Flornel and Ralph Allen of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, Matthew Allen, Karla Tharp, Martin Ebersbach, Keith Krautter and Kim Thompson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Springhouse Estates, 728 Norristown Road, Lower Gwynedd. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 625 W. Ridge Pike, A100, Conshohocken, PA 19428-1190.

Agnes Arrietta Click, 85, of Chestnut Ridge, Mount Alto, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School class of 1938. She was a devoted Christian and loving mother, sister and grandmother. She wrote beautiful poetry and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, sending get-well cards and faithfully reading the Bible. She attended Creston United Methodist Church in Leon, W.Va., when she was able.
She was born June 11, 1919, in Mason County, the daughter of the late Carl Herbert and Beulah Vesta Gerlach Knapp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Woodrow Click, whom she married June 23, 1938; a 17-year-old son, Keith Dwayne Click, who died Feb. 28, 1965; and two grandsons, Dale Lee Click and Bruce Wayne Click.
She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson Lee and Judy Click and Karl Blaine and Alice Click, all of Mount Alto; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Zelda and William Hannum of Cottageville, W.Va., and Imogene and Gay Herdman of Leon; grandchildren, Steve (Janice) and John (Beverly) Click, all of Mount Alto, Karla (Jimmy) Stewart of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Jason (Linda) Click of Clarksburg, W.Va.; great-grandchildren, Coda, Jared and Curtis Click of Mount Alto, Seth and Holly Stewart of Bettendorf, and Anthony Brock, Alexis Hope and Jaden Karlton Click of Clarksburg; sisters-in-law, Macil Click of Cottageville, Stella Sayre of Evans, W.Va., and Edith Click of Alliance, Ohio; and her family, friends and her cat.

He was a construction worker a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was born Oct. 21, 1938, in Mason County, the son of the late William and Crotia (Plants) Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, William, Lester and Ralph Davis; and four sisters, Mabel Taylor, Berniece Reed, Mildred Sturgeon and Crotia Plants.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Richardson Davis of Point Pleasant; a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred A. and Randy Smith of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Kevin, Keith and William Smith; and one sister, Doris Benson of Wooster, Ohio.

He was retired from O’Dell Lumber Company and attended Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
He was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Red House, W.Va., the son of the late Theodore R. and Amelia C. (Sayre) Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Herbert Davis; and one sister, Betty L. Shoaf.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. Davis of Mason; two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Lee and Jennifer Davis of Middleport, Ohio, and Steven Ray and Jessica Davis of Reedsville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Olivia Davis, Cameron Davis and Emma Davis; one sister, Thelma L. Johnson of Nebraska; one brother, Norman F. Shoaf of Palantine, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at the funeral home.

Glenwood, W.Va. -- Grover C. Edmonds, 79, of Glenwood, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at his residence.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. He was Methodist by faith.
He was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Mason County, a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lourena Boster Edmonds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Susie" Edmonds; and three sisters, Zola Duncan, Roma Holley and Zena Meadows.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and David Kent of Huntington, W.Va., and Drema and Larry Tomblin of Glenwood; two granddaughters, Amy Beth Kent of Nashville, Tenn., and Melissa Kent of Birmingham, Ala.; a grandson, Michael Tomblin of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington with Minister Jeff Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Pete Meadows Cemetery in Glenwood. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at the funeral home.
