Janet Louise Garrison, 71, died of cancer Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005,
at her home in Winter Haven, Fla. Janet graduated from Marshall
University in Huntington, W.Va., with a Master of Arts in Elementary
Education in 1982. She taught at Ordnance Elementary School in
Point Pleasant, W.Va., from 1977 to 1984. She relocated to Winter
Haven in 1985 and taught at Boone Middle School in Haines City,
Fla., from 1985 until she retired in 1996. She also served as
a special needs tutor with Sylvan Learning Center. She was a member
of Christ Community Church, where she volunteered in the church
office. She previously volunteered in the music department at
Discipleship Baptist Church and was a choir member at the Presbyterian
Church in Point Pleasant. She was born May 24, 1933, in Southside,
W.Va., the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Adkins
and Mary Jayne (Vansickle) Adkins. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her sister Juanita (Leonard "Buster")
Riffle of Point Pleasant. She is survived by her children Debra
Kee, Gregory (Olivia) Garrison and Kathy (David) Leggett; six
grandchildren, Laci Mitrov, Bryson Macchione, David Macchione,
Austin Leggett and Tyler Leggett; and her sisters Barbara (Bill)
Wallis of Louisville, Ky., and Brenda (Keith) West of Crown City,
Ohio. Services will be noon Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Steele's
Family Funeral Chapel in Winter Haven, with Pastor John Mouery
officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Good
Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla., and/or Lakeland Regional
Cancer Center in Lakeland, Fla.

Ilene D. Hall, 77, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away Wednesday,
Feb. 2, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va. She
was employed by Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio, and
retired in 1991. She volunteered at the former Veterans Memorial
Hospital in Pomeroy, Ohio. She was a member of the Middleport
First Baptist Church. She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Sharon, W.Va.,
the daughter of the late Walter B. and Dollie Glover Fetty. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters,
Phyllis Cadle and Mary Fetty; and a brother, Harold Fetty. She
is survived by three daughters, Sherry Weaver of New Haven, W.Va.,
Connie (Jay) Johnson of Belpre, Ohio, and Trudy (Matt) Lyons of
Pomeroy; twin sons, Rick Hall (Rhonda Schroeder) and Randy Hall
(Sherry McCown) of Michigan; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;
sisters Gloria (John) Case of Columbus, Ohio, and Billie Buffington
of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers Wallace Fetty of Gallipolis and Walter
(Rose) Fetty of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Fisher Funeral
Home in Middleport, with the Rev. Mark Morrow officiating. Private
graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Hartford, W.Va. -- Waid B. Hayman, 93, of Hartford, W.Va., and
formerly of Racine, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in the
Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center in Pomeroy, Ohio.
He was a retired deckhand with the Union Barge Lines in Pittsburgh,
Pa., and was a member of the Hobson Christian Fellowship.
He was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Apple Grove, Ohio, the son of the
late George W. and Vera Mae Crawford Hayman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Donna Alma Swan, who he married Sept. 20, 1930 in Pomeroy. She
died Nov. 8, 1993. He also was preceded in death by his son, Archie
A. Hayman, who was killed in Vietnam on April 2, 1968; his sisters,
Ruth Ours and Ruby Wolfe; and his brothers, Gerald Hayman, Harry
Hayman and George W. Hayman.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryle (Carroll) Knight of Hartford;
four grandchildren, Becky Knight of Hartford, Linda Knight of
Ashton, W.Va., Teresa L. VanMeter of New Haven, W.Va., and David
B. Knight of Galloway, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Bradley,
Chandler, Cole, Candace, Brandon, Shane, Erika and Mathew; one
great-great-grandchild; a brother, Dan (Faith) Hayman of Syracuse,
Ohio; three sisters, Gladys Richardson of Port Huron, Mich., and
Marge Packman and Doris Rogers, both of Columbus, Ohio; and several
nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, in Cremeens Funeral
Home in Racine with the Rev. Hershel W. White officiating. Burial
will follow in Letart Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m.

Glenwood, WV -- Donald L. Holley, 77, of Glenwood, W.Va., went
to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, from
his residence.
He was a miller for Martha White in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born May 1, 1927, in Glenwood.
He was welcomed home to Heaven by two sisters, Mary Langdon and
Norma Wroten; one brother, Richard Holley; and his mother, Gladys
Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae (Huffman)
Holley; four daughters, Freeda (Bill) Deal, Charlotte (Marshall)
Deal, all of Glenwood, Arlene Fielder (fiancé Virgil Brogan)
and Connie (Rusty) McCoy, all of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.; five
grandchildren, Doug (Lori) Deal of Glenwood, Marsha (Troy) Knight
of Lesage, W.Va., Donald (Jody) Fielder of Glenwood, and George
(Cindy) McCoy, Tiffany (Jamie) Mayes and Kurissa Brogan, all of

home to be with his Lord Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at his residence.
He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church.
He was born March 17, 1920, in Mason County, the son of the late
James and Luellar Harbour Holley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son,
John Holley, and one daughter-in-law, Marietta Holley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Violet Burks Holley; one daughter
and son-in-law, Nancy and Fred Fisher; two sons and daughters-in-law,
James Ray and Dianna Lee Holley and William Earl and Karen Kay
Holley; three sisters, Edna Clagg, Virginia Hurlbut and Addie
Frye; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Hoschar, 93, of Southside, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan.
5, 2005, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1911, in Cottageville, W.Va., to the late
Phillip E. and Francis (Fultz) Hoschar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife
Nellie M. Hoschar; daughters Ardella Herdman and Renie Russell;
a son, Richard "Poncho" Lindsay; three infant children;
three infant sisters; an infant brother; and four brothers, Milton
Hoschar, Vinton Hoschar, Roy Hoschar and Delbert Hoschar.
Johnnie was a beef farmer. He served during World War II in the
Army Air Corps, and was a member of the American Legion Post 23
of Point Pleasant, W.Va.
He is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Naomi and James
Pullins of Point Pleasant, Annabell Rice of Point Pleasant, Altie
and Tim Lewis of Richmond, Ind., Nellie Mae and Doug Hudson of
Southside, and June and Leonard Stover of Racine, Ohio; four sons
and a daughter-in-law, Harley Hoschar of Pomeroy, OH, Charles
Hoschar of Glenwood, Johnnie and Martha Hoschar of Pomeroy, Ohio,
Charles Hoschar of Glenwood, W.Va., Johnnie and Martha Hoschar
of Pomeroy, and Calvin Lee Hoschar of Southside. Additional survivors
include a brother, Earlie Hoschar of Cottageville; two sisters,
Elizabeth Stover of Racine, and Altie Full of Parkersburg, W.Va.;
a special grandson, Nathan Derenberger of Southside; 18 grandchildren;
and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jan. 15, 2005 at her mother's home in Middleport.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of Wahama High School.
Born June 25, 1958 in Mason City, W.Va., she was the daughter
of Darlene Lou VanMeter Johnson of Middleport and the late James
Edward Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Darlene Lou VanMeter Johnson of
Middlpeort; one daughter and son-in-law, Jenni (Gary) Facemire
of Vinton; a brother, James Martin Johnson of Mason, W.Va.; two
sisters, Christy Rene` Russell of Huntington, W.Va., and Jonnie
Belinda Johnson of Middleport; and several nieces and nephews

W.Va., died Sunday evening, Feb. 13, 2005, in the Pleasant Valley
Hospital emergency room in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
He had worked piecework at Barlow Brick yard in Charleston, W.Va.,
and he was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.
He attended New Life Church of God in Gallipolis, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Charleston, the son of the late
Oscar "Big'um" and Eulah (McClanahan) King.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Ollie E. (Casto) King; a brother, Claude King; and a sister, Elizabeth
Cummings.
He is survived by two step-sons, James (Emma) McClanahan of Henderson,
and Delmar McClanahan of Point Pleasant; two step-daughters, Violet
Fields of Sissonville, W.Va., and Kathryn Cummings of Indiana;
four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Harry R. King, 88, of Marion, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005,
at Morning View Nursing Home.
He was a retired meat cutter for Town & Country I.G.A., where
he worked for 40 years. He performed on the Majestic Showboat
from 1938-42, and he worked at the TNT Plant in Point Pleasant,
W.Va., from 1942-46. He also worked at the Marietta shipyard.
He was known by family and friends as a kind and caring man his
entire life.
Born March 11, 1917, in Point Pleasant, he was the son of the
late James L. and Katherine (Vansickle) King.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Catherine R. (Reynolds) King; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by one daughter, Margaret (Ellis) Hudson of Prospect,
Ohio; two grandchildren, Diana (John) Carr of Prospect, and Linda
Francisco of Lubbock, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Rodney
Francisco, Nicole Francisco, Timothy Carr and Matthew Carr.

after a long illness.

of the late James and Sarah Kinder Atha.

late Frank and Della (Noble) McDaniel.
She was homemaker, and a member of the Ladies Aid Society, Gypsy
E.U.B. Church. She was a devout Christian and attended Spring
Lake United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters Paula (Dan Jr.) Merritt of Brooksville
and Reta (Scott) Campbell of Wilmington, N.C.; son Cleemont (Linda)
Leeson Jr. of Pickerington, Ohio; granddaughter Lorie D. Stafano
of Pickerington; grandsons Jay Leeson of Brooksville, Daniel and
Cooper Merritt of Brooksville, and Justin Leeson of Pickerington;
and two great-grandchildren, also of Pickerington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
Cleemont J. Leeson Sr.; son James Leeson; eight brothers; and

Dorothy Jean "Dottie" (Lewis) Lidel, 76, of New Haven,
W.Va., went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday morning
Feb. 5, 2005, at her home.
She was formerly employed for many years by Citizens National
Bank of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and was retired from the West Virginia
Department of Human Services. She was a member of the New Haven
United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer, Sunday
school teacher, and president of the United Methodist Women. She
was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Point Pleasant
Chapter 75; the Nehaclima Garden Club, and Quilts and Things.
She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School.
Born Sept. 9, 1928, in Mason County, W.Va., she was a daughter
of the late James Russell and Dorothy Dorcas (Melton) Lewis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother,
Robert K. "Bob" Lewis; and husbands Barto Lee Durst
Jr. and Kenneth Filkins.
She is survived by her husband Roland P. Lidel; a daughter and
son-in-law, Sherry and Larry Wright of Point Pleasant; two sons,
Alan L. Durst and his fiancée Sandy Lovejoy of Point Pleasant,
and Jerry Dean Durst of Westerville, Ohio; stepchildren Doug and
Lynn Lidel, Tom and Marcia Hoffman, and Craig and Donna Lidel;
four grandchildren, Marci Hamm, Brian (Tequella) Hamm, Nathan
Wright and Joshua Durst; step-grandchildren Jenny and John Hammond,
Darren Hoffman, Mark Hoffman, Christopher Lidel, Bethany and Samantha
Carmen-Lidel and Matthew Lidel; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna

W.Va., died Jan. 10, 2005, in Lonoke, Ark., as a result of an
automobile accident.
He was a cartoon artist for Image Comics in Arizona and was a
member of the United States Marines.
He was born Jan. 15, 1977 in Travis County, Texas, the son of
Jeffery Lightfoot and the late Susan Weaver Lightfoot.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal
grandfather.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Jeffery and Connie
Lightfoot of New Haven; stepbrothers Eddie and Justin Casto of
New Haven; sisters Sincerae Lightfoot of Syracuse, Ohio, and Sarah
and Samantha Lightfoot of New Haven; and stepsister Latrisha Casto
of New Haven.

husband, James A. Crump; a daughter, Gloria Crump; a son, James
H. Crump; a step-son, Frank Lewis Long Jr.; and two brothers,
Howard Elliott and Harry Thomas Elliott.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Lewis Long Sr.; a son and
daughter-in-law, Paul and Lisa Crump of Mason, W.Va.; two daughters

(Jim) Stewart of Rutland; a sister-in-law, Alice Elliott of Point
Pleasant; and special friends, Jim and Roxann Workman of Point
Pleasant.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Deal Funeral
Home in Point Pleasant with the Revs. Dennis Crilow and Johnny
Hayman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery
in Flatrock, W.Va. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28,
2005 at the funeral home.
