Olevia L. (Austin) Mahan, 83, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died Tuesday,
Feb. 8, 2005, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
She was employed by the Ohio River Co. as a cook and also was
a member of the Gallipolis Christian Church.
She was born July 30, 1921, in Henderson, W.Va., the daughter
of the late Archibald and Edna May (Barker) Austin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter,
Edna Mae Neville; and four brothers, Homer Austin, Arlin Austin,
Archie Austin and Woodson Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Mahan; a daughter and
son-in-law, Sharee and Philip Luckeydoo of Bidwell, Ohio; two
sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Helen Patterson of Vinton,
Ohio, and Roy and Wilda Kincaid of Winter Garden, Fla.; a sister,
Frances Wedge of Mason, W.Va.; a brother, Oden Austin of Gallipolis;
nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at
Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant with the Revs. Denny Coburn
and Mike Lynn officiating. Visitation will be from noon until
the time of service Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Crow-Hussell Funeral
Home in Point Pleasant.

Cheryl Ann Mash, 39, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died 7:33 p.m.
Jan. 1, 2005, at her home, after a three-year battle with cancer.
She was a 1983 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, a member
of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23, and the Women of the
Moose Lodge 594 in Point Pleasant. She was formerly employed by
the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge, and was an avid lover of Harley-Davidson
motorcycles.
Cheryl was born June 5, 1965, in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was the
daughter of Stella (Taylor) Mash of Point Pleasant, and the late
Marvin William "Bill" Mash.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Brandon
William Mash and Willis Daniel Marr, both of Point Pleasant; favored
companion, Vance Violand of Patriot, Ohio; three brothers, Marvin
William "Bill" Mash II, Patrick Lee (Jessica) Mash and
Keith Allen Mash, all of Point Pleasant; a sister, Tina Marie
(Charles) Watson of Point Pleasant; a niece, Misty Blessing of
Letart, W.Va.; very special friends, Arlan and Helen Lyons and
Sharon Lyons, all of Leon, W.Va.; and several aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Services will be noon, Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Crow-Hussell
Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Robert L. Patterson II officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brewer Cemetery, Rt. 62, Point Pleasant.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the funeral
home.

Middleport, OH --Mona Lee Neal, 73, of Middleport, Ohio, passed
away unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at her residence.
She was employed as a secretary for Dr. John Ridgeway for 19 years
and for Dr. Shrikant Vaidya for seven years. She was a member
of Ash Street Church.
She was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Syracuse, Ohio, the daughter of
the late George and Georgia E. Frazier Oiler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Ike Neal, who passed away in 2000.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet Lee and Jeffrey
A. Russell of Letart, W.Va.; two step-children, Kit R. (Carol)
Neal of Letart, and Kim B. (Mary Ann) Neal of Mason, W.Va.; grandchildren,

Rutland, Ohio -- Charles J. "Charlie" Ohlinger, 88,
of Rutland, Ohio, departed his earthly home on Saturday, April
9, 2005 at the Charleston Area Medical Center after a short illness.
He was a furnace stoker for Foot Mineral for most of his life.
He was born March 14, 1917, in West Columbia, W.Va., the son of
the late Hugo and Mary Elizabeth Ohlinger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother
and three sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Opal M. Bland Ohlinger;
nine children, Donna Bentz of Middleport, Ohio, James (Bub) Ohlinger
of Middleport, Goldie Wolford (Jim) of Rural Retreat, Va., Charles

volunteer work in both the church and community.
She was born March 6, 1927, in Gradyville, Ky., the daughter of
the late Lawrence and Beulah Cole.

Lawrence C. Cole, Renis Cole and Delbert Cole.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Preece of Mason; two daughters,
Deanna (Tommy) Crum of Delbarton, W.Va., and Lana Kersey of Point
Pleasant, W.Va.; a son, Homer Keith (Elaine) Preece of Point Pleasant;
five grandchildren, Phillip D. (Stephenie) Swisher of Pittsburgh,

Port Clinton, Ohio -- Disa E. (Mattox) Priddy, 80, of Port Clinton,
Ohio, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at the Erie County Care Facility
in Sandusky, Ohio.
She was a housekeeper for the H. B. Magruder Hospital in Port
Clinton for six years, retiring in 1960. She also worked in the
kitchen at Underwoods Resturant in Port Clinton. She enjoyed
sewing and quilting.
She was born July 22, 1924, in Leon, W.Va., the daughter of the
late Charles and Cora (Elliott) Mattox. On June 25, 1944 in Buffalo,
W.Va., she married Harry F. Priddy, and he preceded her in death
on Feb. 25, 1980.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death
by her brothers, Roy, Earl, Guss and Arthur; sisters, Dorothy
and Dollie; and infant sister, Beulah.
She is survived by her daughters, Harriet (Luther) Whitaker of
Indiana and Barbara Welch of Sandusky; sons, Lonnie (Beverly)
Priddy of Port Clinton and Arnold Priddy of New Jersey; brothers,
Clarence and Hollie Mattox; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Church of
God in Buffalo. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Memorial Park.

He was born June 4, 1976, in Gallia County, Ohio, the son of Robert
Edward and Martha Lynn Harmon Reed of Point Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Elliot Reed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents
Walter and Helen B. Harmon of Point Pleasant; paternal grandmother,
Rachael A. Reed of Glenville, W.Va.; two brothers, Brian Elliott

Earl Wilson "Scrappy" Riley, 82, of Mason, W.Va., died
Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
He was retired from the United States Army and served in World
War II and the Korean War. He was a meat cutter for many years
at the B&B Market. He was a member of Smith-Capehart American
Legion Post 140 and Stewart-Johnson VFW Post 9926. He also was
an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was born April 15, 1922, in West Columbia, W.Va., the son of
the late Patrick and Eva (VanMeter) Riley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife
Mildred Mary Riley; brothers, Patrick "Mooney" Riley,
Ralph Riley, Edward "Joe" Riley, Ted Riley and Bryor
VanMeter; and a sister, Virginia Patsy Miller.
He is survived by his daughters Betty A. (Gordon) Young of Mason,
W.Va., and Maureen L. (Carl) King of New Haven, W.Va.; sons, Daniel

Clifton, W.Va. -- Floyd Thomas Roach, 90, of Clifton, W.Va., died
Saturday, March 12, 2005, at his residence.
He was a federal government employee for the Agriculture Department.
He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Gibbstown, W.Va., the son of the
late Samuel Jacob and Olivea Jane (Gibbs) Roach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,
Louise (Wood) Roach; a brother, Melvin W. Roach Sr.; and his sisters,
May Wamsley, Goldie Blake, Jane Bennette and two sisters in infancy.
He is survived by several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and
nieces and nephews.
Services will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, at Foglesong-Tucker
Funeral Home in Mason, W.Va., with Curtis Bauske, Martin Hnizdil,
Stephen Jayne and Jared Snyder officiating. A committal service
will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Lynchburg, Va.,
at the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday,
March 14, 2005 at the funeral home in Mason.

Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va. -- Sam Rodgers, 57, of Gallipolis Ferry,
W.Va., died Saturday at home after a long illness.
Rodgers was born Jan. 3, 1948, in Franklin County, Ohio. He was
the son of Paul Samuel Rodgers and Virginia L. Rodgers, both of
whom precede him in death.
Rodgers was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and worked
as a disabled security guard for M&G Polymers of Gallipolis
Ferry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 23 in Point
Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Rodgers of Gallipolis Ferry, and
five sons: Paul (Sandra) Rodgers of Gallipolis, Jason (Brandy)
Rodgers of Crown City, Jeff Rodgers of Gallipolis, Sam (Mandy)
Rodgers of Gallipolis, and Travis Rodgers of Gallipolis. Also,
four stepdaughters: Mikka (Sherman) Jordan Jr. of Leon, Staci
(Jimmy) Sayre of Gallipolis, Amy (Jon) Riggs of Theresa, N.Y.,
and Dawna (Jeremy) McNeely of Gallipolis. Also, 12 grandchildren,
12 step grandchildren, one great grandson, and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he also was preceded by two sisters,
Ora Margaret Keenan and Lois Scarberry.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at 2 p.m. in Deal
Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, with Pastor Eugene Zopp officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Concord Cemetery
in Henderson. Full military service will be conducted after the
service at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 23. Visitation
will take place at the funeral home for two hours prior to the
service, starting at noon.

Point Pleasant, W.Va. -- Phyllis L. (Crutchfield) Rogers of Point
Pleasant, W.Va., died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Holzer Senior
Care Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
She graduated from Braxton County schools and then went on to
further her education at West Virginia College of Beauty Culture
in Martinsburg, W.Va. After becoming a certified beautician, she
worked in Sutton, W.Va., and Gassaway, W.Va., and had a shop in
Burnsville, W.Va. She came to Point Pleasant in 1954 and went
to work at LaMarce Beauty Shop for Joan Wilson. She was a homemaker
and a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church and the
Ladies Auxiliary VFW #3531 of Point Pleasant.
She was the daughter of the late Ray and Muriel (Collins) Crutchfield
of Burnsville in Braxton County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
John Darrell Rogers; and a sister, Helen Vinson.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Lowell W. Rogers
of New Haven, W.Va., and Richard and Misty Rogers of Gallipolis;
four grandchildren, Courtney, Kristin, Crenson and Kyler Rogers,
all of Gallipolis; two sisters, Mrs. Kemper (Virginia) Jones of
Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Gilbert (Alice) Gates of DeRidder, La.;
two brothers, Orman Ray (Cricket) Crutchfield and Paul (Rose)
Crutchfield, all of Burnsville, W.Va.; and several nieces and
nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Wilcoxen
Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Charlie Moses officiating.
Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, at the funeral
home.

Rex E. Roush, 53, of New Haven, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005,
at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
He was employed by M&G Polymers, and attended the Graham Baptist
Church.
Born Feb. 11, 1951, in Pomeroy, Ohio, he was the son of the late
Walter D. Roush and June (Pratt) Roush.
Surviving are his wife Venis (Clarke) Roush of New Haven; three
daughters and a son-in-law, Lyndsey Roush of New Haven, Melissa
Roush of Hartford, W.Va., and Donna and Allen Plants of Letart,
W.Va.; three grandchildren, Brycen Patrick, and Jacob and Jaelyn
Plants; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Don Roush of Galloway,
Ohio, and Roger and Laura Roush of Delaware, Ohio.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Foglesong-Tucker
Funeral Home in Mason, W.Va. Burial will be in the Sunrise Memorial
Gardens, Letart. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home.
