GGracie@feist.com Gracie Stover - BOWLES, PRICE - I am looking for information about the BOWLES family. My GGG-grandfather, Allen BOWLES was born in 1846 or 1850. In 1880 I found him in the census in Kanawha Co. with his wife, Octavia Cooper PRICE. I have reason to believe that he started out in McDowell Co. I cannot find him in Kanawha Co prior to 1880. From the story he passed down of his family coming over the mountain from VA, I believe the family may have started out in McDowell Co. I have found records of an Alan BOWLES, married to Elizabeth with a son named Albert that lived in the Western District of Tazwell in the 1840's. This Alan is the right age to have been my Allen's father or Uncle. Since McDowell was formed from Tazwell Co this may be the stating point for me. If anyone has any information, please e-mail me. Thank you, Gracie
