BURGESS, CARR, MELVIN, REED, WOODS -
Martha "Mattie" Melvin Reed (bc 1874, Mercer Co., WV; d 1934 Mercer Co., WV)
I am seeking any information concerning "Mattie", who was married in Mercer Co., WV in October, 1899 to Andrew Jackson "Jack" Reed (b June, 1868; Monroe Co., WV; dc 1908, possibly McDowell or Summers Co.,WV). This was Jack's second marriage. His first wife (Alice Woods; bc 1871, Summers Co., WV), bore him four children (Johnny, Jimmy, Nellie and Betty), and apparently died due to complications of childbirth in 1898. As for Mattie's marriage to Jack, she apparently had at least two children by him : Andrew (born between 1900 and 1905), and Della Ray Reed (b June 4, 1909, Wyoming Co., WV; d Feb 20, 1917, Springton, Mercer Co., WV).
As a side note, Mattie was apparently the daughter of Napolean Bonaparte Melvin (bc 1852; Mercer Co., WV) and Annie Carr (b July 25, 1857, Oakvale, WV; d Jan 2, 1934, Matoaka, Mercer Co.,WV; daughter of William Carr and Sallie Burgess).
Any information concerning Mattie (nee Melvin) Reed, or her adult family, would be most very much appreciated.

CORNETT, GODFREY, LESTER, ROBERTS -
My grandmother, Phylow Amelia (Frances) GODFREY had brother John D. GODFREY who she said died in Mercer Co. WV. I can no information about John D. Perhaps someone else is researching GODFREY family in area.
Ch of Absalom GODFREY & Susannah CORNETT:
1. Celia GODFREY b 1859, Logan Co. WV--on census, but don't know what happened to her. Presume she died yng.
2. Evelyn/Eveline GODFREY, b 1862, Guyan, Wyo Co. WV md 1 Jan 1881, Wyo to Henry ROBERTS, 1st cousin to Jake (see I-3-1-12-1)
3. Phylow Amelia Frances GODFREY (she used Frances) b 9 May 1865, Guyan, Wyo. Co, WV d 17 Sep 1941, md 20 Jan 1881 Wyo Co. to Jacob ROBERTS (I-3-1-3-10)
Phylow was originally Phylow Amelia. "Milly" was name used among GODFREYs a lot. I don't know when, or why, she changed from "Amelia" to "Frances".
4. John Damon GODFREY b 21 Nov 1867 Little Huff Distr, Wyoming Co. WV d soon aft 1901 Princeton Mercer Co. WV md 1899 Alsie LESTER

6. Clara GODFREY b May 1874 d 2 Mar 1876, age 1 yr, 10 mos
Last two girls died of diptheria in epidemic. Their mother "quit living" after this, according to Phylow, on the 1880 census is the word "insane" by her name. Evidently she went crazy with grief. I had always heard that they were "twin girls who died" but they were not twins. Lewis Gerome GODFREY md2nd Dicy ROBERTS, b c1862, prob. d/o Harvey ROBERTS (I-3-1-12)

JENNINGS, QUESENBERRY, WALLACE -
I am researching my family's history, and looking for any information regarding my Great-Great-Great Grandad, William Thomas "Tom" Wallace, his wife, Mary Quesenberry Jennings Wallace, or my Gx4 Grandad, Aaron Wallace and his wife, Sarah "Sally" Ennis Freeman Wallace.
Mary Q. Jennings Wallace was buried in 1905 at Rumberg Cemetery, Camp Creek, but later moved in 1934 to Resthaven Cemetery in Princeton and buried under the name Mary Jennings. I believe she is buried next to her son, Churchwell Marion Jennings, Jr. and his wife. This leads me to have a hunch that William Thomas Wallace remains, or was buried, at Rumberg Cemetery in Camp Creek. Possibly?
I have no clue as to Aaron Wallace, other than he moved on (divorce?) to Franklin County, OH where he remarried and died in 1884. I would just like to know his father's name, but that's another hunt.
If you can point me in the right direction and shed some light for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
