COLLINS, DILLON -
Looking for ancestors of this DILLON family: Thomas F. DILLON (b:1851 d:1918 in Guilford Co, NC) sp: Mildred COLLINS (b:1849 in Stokes Co, NC d:1921). They had at least 3 children: Perry T. (b:1871 d:1918); Jettie A. (b:1880) and Minnie Esther DILLON (b:1883 possibly in Bluefield, Mercer Co, WVa. d:1962). Thomas' middle name may have been Flenoy, Flenroy, or Flournoy. This family is listed in both the 1880 and 1900 census for Stokes Co, North Carolina. However, my grandmother recalls that her mother, Minnie Esther DILLON said she was born in Bluefield. BYRD, CAVES -
Seeking information on Rosie Caves, married to Oscar Byrd Aug 10 1901. They are my gggrandparents and lived in Mercer County, Oscar Byrd is suppose to be buried in Simmons Cemetery in Freeman. I was there, and could not find his tombstone. The cemetery looks to have been vandalized. Rosie is buried in another cemetery. Does anyone have any records on any of the cemeteries in this county? Or know where I can get them? I lived in Indiana, and I don't get to WV very often. Thank you for any info you can offer.
