My grandmother tells me that the Martins came from Ireland. My so far I have found no prove of this. I found out a lot about my family from the book: Mercer County History 1984 on page 141, John Martin. I am from the Willian C. Martin line. So far everyone who as contacted me has gone as far as I have. Daniel Martin f/o John Martin came from Pennsylvania. I have not been able to go back any more. Can you help me find a member of the Martin family or any one elses who cound give me more information? Also do you know any thing about an "Irish" villiage or settlement in Giles Co. Virgina? If any one is interested I have a picture of William C. Martin and Ann Hearn Martin. I also have a picture of their son James B. Martin. His picture is on a memorial plaque. James died during the Civil War. This was confirmed by the book "59th Virgina Inf. The Va. Regimental Histories Series" According to my grandmother James came home from war with a "fever". He died from the "fever" but not before he gave the "fever" to his grandfather John Sr. Martin and his sister Nancy Jane Martin. Supposedly John Sr. and Nacy Jane also died from the "fever". I have not been able to comfirm this information. Can anyone help me? Vickie

Mattie was b abt 1886 in Tazewell Co, Va. d/o Wm Herald & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Stevenson. Willard was b abt 1800 in N.C. s/o Benjamin Elledge. Any info appreciated and willing to share known info

My grandfathers' name was Charles Bentley Robertson. I have found a Bentley Robertson listed in the 1880 Mercer Co. WV. census. Then he vanishes into thin air. Any info on this Bentley Robertson born March 1880 Mercer Co. WV. would be deeply appreciated.

I am looking for the names of the parents of Susan Frances (Francis) Meadows. Susan married a Mr. Tollison Sanford Morgan. I found her on a family tree on the internet. She was suppposed yo have been born in Mercer County in 1853. I would appreciate any information you can give me. Thanks
