BRYANT, FERGUSON -
My relative, Elijah W. Ferguson, Jr.. I see an Elijah W. Ferguson in the 1850 census for Mercer Co. Does the census reveal family members? Jr. was supposedly born in Belmont Co. Ohio in 1843 so perhaps, if the same one, Jr. was living with Sr. in Mercer in 1850. Sr was supposed to have been born in 1813 and married to Lucinda Bryant (nee).

GLASS, PACE, POOLE, STARR, TRIMBLE, WILSON -
My grandfather, Charles Wakefield PACE, Sr., was born 1878 in Salisbury, Rowan Cnty, NC, and died in the 1950s in Bluefield, WVA. His father was John Fletcher PACE, Police Chief of Salisbury at the time of his death in 1901. Charles 'Charley' W. PACE, Sr., was an employee of a railroad in Bluefield, WVA; he was a machinist. He and my grandmother, Mary Ann POOLE PACE (1879 in Salisbury-1953), were divorced in the 1920s, and she remained with their children in the Norfolk, VA., area. These children were: Rachel, J. Fletcher, Clayte, Charles 'Chuck', and Bobby W. PACE. Some of these children continued to have contact with their father until his death in the 1950s. Charles W. PACE, Sr., was originally from Salisbury, but traveled where the jobs were with the rail road. His mother was Clara Bell WILSON PACE of Salisbury, who in 1904 remarried, to Rev. Henry Frank STARR of Greensboro, Guilford Cnty, NC, at the death of her first husband (J.F. PACE above). Charles PACE did remain in contact with his mother in Guilford County, NC. After his divorce from my grandmother, my grandfather (Charles W. PACE, Sr.) remarried. His wife was Lenora May GLASS PACE of Bluefield, WVA (father was Clifford Glass, mother was Anne Trimble of Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., VA). At her marriage to my grandfather Charley, she ran a boarding house in Bluefield. She died around 1972 in Bluefield, WVA. She was employed in the 1950s by the Eastern Star Chapter of the Masonic organization and both she and my grandfather were very active in the Masonic orders. I would like to contact this family and find out more about my grandfather, Charles W. PACE, Sr., who did not die until the 1950s, but who my branch of the family thought was deceased much earlier. Given the stigma of divorce back in the early 20th century, my grandmother just simply told people that she was a widow.
