I am researching my father's family. I know very little about them.
Benjamin F. McDonald b. abt. 1895 in WV. m. Mary E. Taylor b. abt. 1896 in Va. They lived in Mercer County, Wv. In 1921 for sure. their chilren:
William "Billy" Warren McDonald, b. June 30, 1921 in Mercer Co.WV. (His father Benjamin was a lather at the time.) was arrested at 17 in Mercer Co. for burgulary of a storehouse belonging to Ira and Harry Kleiman. He was sent to the WV. Penitentiary in 1938 until 1943. He was paroled and did commit again same crime of a Goodykootz Drug Store Corp. He went back to prison until Sept. 1950. He m. Miriam Maynard in Graham Va. on March 30, 1954. He d. March 14, 1972 in DC where he had been living since 1954. I was born in 1955

I am looking for relatives of Elmira Virgina Caldwell Fletcher and Sara Jane Caldwell Fletcher. These ladies were my great aunts. My father left me in Alabama 57 yrs ago and I recently found out he was from Mercer co, Va. He was Rupert Buddy Mason Caldwell. I am seeking ANY family members in this area. My father John Henry Cooke was born in Bluefield WV 7-8-01 son of James Samuel and Maggie Lee (Holyfield) Cooke. I am looking for any information about this family that might be in the Mercer County area such as other members of the family, dates and places born/died/buried, schooling, occupations, ancestors etc.. I have also heard references to Beckley WV but know nothing else about Beckley. There is a strong possibility that the Cooke's were also known as "Cook" as they appear in later Rockingham Co, NC census data from 1920. Luther Cooke, South Carolina

HAYWOOD, TILLER -
Searching for the Haywood family who lived in Mercer Co. WVa as early as 1840. Samuel Haywood b. abt. 1796 in Maryland, last record I found on him was the 1850 Mercer Co. census. He was 54. It is possible that he died before the next census. Does anyone have info. on where this HAYWOOD family moved? I do know that son Joseph Haywood was in the 151 Reg. Va Militia. He enlisted in Mercer Co. and was in Co. D. He later moved to Buchanan Co. and then to Russell Co. Va. Looking for the rest of this Haywood family in the 1850 Mercer Co. Census:

Hi! My mother, Sarah Elizabeth Dunford, born in Fall River W. VA. date of birth Was sept. 6,1989. Her father's name was Chester Arthur Dunford, mother, Mary (Eils) maiden name. Trying to find records of her parents. Believe parents lived in Freeman, West Virginia, probably moved from Falls River. Please help me to find out how to locate records. Father born 1887, died 1936 29th of June. Mother born 1891 died 1952. Thanks for your help
