ALIFF, CARR, SMOTHERS, STROUP, WILLIAMS -
Researching Smothers, Aliff and Williams in Bluefield, WV. My husband's
grandfather was Ernest Lee Williams md. to Hazel Benora Aliff. Ernest Lee
Williams was the son of John E. Williams and Josie Florance Carr.
Smothers line is John Jasper Smothers (g-father in law) and Lula Evelyn
Stroup, John Smothers (my father in law) md Evelyn Williams (my mother in
law) and they had 5 children, 4 living. Evelyn was the daughter of Ernest Lee Williams and
Hazel Benora Aliff. I have a little bit of sketchy information on this family. A lot, I
have researched myself through my in-laws and in Utah. I actually found more in Utah, due to my
in-laws' deaths preceding my marriage. Thank you all in advance.

HOPKINS -
Are there any other Hopkins Cemeteries besides Rocky Mount and the one
with three graves near the Lerona PO? I have heard there are two more Hopkins' cemeteries from
the main two Farley Cemeteries going down (South) Bluestone, towards Lick Creek. I guess that
would be Summers county, could be Mercer? If you know of these or others I would appreciate it if
you would send me directions on how to get to these Hopkins' Cemeteries..or any other old
HOPKINS' CEMETERIES. Thank you. Glenn D. Hopkins

CARNEY, LIVEN, LOVERIDGE -
My GGfather, John Thomas Loveridge, b Feb 1865 in Bluefield, Mercer County, WV. Married
Margaret Elizabeth Carney, Oct 18, 1886, in Indiana, PA. Found his parents listed on LDS
site as James Liven and Isabella Liven. Other sites list his parents as "unknown".
I think the Livens may have taken him in to raise. I notice that there were "poor farms" in WV at
the time. Don't know if that's a connection or not.

HARVEY, WHITLOCK -
I am searching for information on Hampton Harvey's wife. Her name was Birtie? or Bertie?
or Byrdie? Mae Whitlock. Their son, Lionel, lived and is buried in Camp Creek. I have
reason to believe she died at the same time as a young daughter named Ethel of Scarlet Fever.
This would have been sometime in 1904. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
